These dances have also graced the screens of modern film and television productions, such as Bridgerton, Pride and Prejudice, and Poldark. Designed for beginners, these workshops offer a perfect introduction to the exquisite world of Playford dances. Accompanied by talented musicians Matthew Coatsworth and Giles Lewin, experienced caller Steph West will guide you through the steps with ease. Master the art of these historic dances and showcase your newfound expertise at The Dancing Master's Ball on January 13, 2024.

About the musicians:
Steph West is a renowned musician, educator, and caller, celebrated for her mastery of the harp and her ability to instill confidence and joy in beginners. Steph's impressive projects include collaborations with talented artists like Paul Rademeyer, Matthew Coatsworth, and Tom Evans.
Giles Lewin specializes in medieval and traditional music from Europe and the Middle East. He has performed alongside esteemed acts such as The Carnival Band, June Tabor, and Bellowhead. His album, Time's Chariot, delves into the captivating melodies from Playford's Dancing Master.
Matthew Coatsworth, curator of The Dancing Master exhibition at the Bodleian Libraries, is a seasoned musician and former member of Boldwood. He currently plays with The Warleggan Village Band, First Folio, and collaborates with Steph West on the fascinating English Harp Project.
