Building Confidence in Anaesthesia with Veterinary Anursethesia Understanding the fundamentals of anaesthesia monitoring will not only boost your confidence, but will also serve as a foundation for future skills and concepts. Monitoring your patients' physiological parameters is similar to putting puzzle pieces together; it is critical to understand how they all fit together to form a bigger picture so that any abnormalities can be identified and troubleshooted. Because many diseases, anaesthetic drugs, and surgical procedures have different effects on our patients, no two anaesthetics will be the same. This day will provide you with a thorough understanding of how to monitor your patient throughout their entire anaesthesia experience, whether you are newly qualified, returning to work, or simply looking to improve your knowledge. Over the day, we will cover: The P doesn’t mean Panic: Easy ECGS Deep breath: Capnography made Easy Say ah: Airways and Breathing Systems Anaesthetic drugs: Patient Effects Squeeze! Blood Pressure Monitoring Wake me up before you go-go: Recovery All delegates will receive a printed booklet of comprehensive notes and the PowerPoints for the day. Join us on Tuesday 10th March 2026, at the The Old Manor Hotel in KY8 6AJ. The day starts at 9.30am and runs until 5.30pm. Your Speaker: Courtney Scales DipVN NCert(Anaesth) PgCertVAA RVN Courtney is originally from New Zealand, where she trained and qualified. Cycling Sports & Fitness
Join Lang Toun Cycles' experienced cycle mechanics at their bike maintenance class, "Quick stop - brakes bike maintenance," in Kirkcaldy. This class is part of our autumn programme of bike maintenance classes and aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to make brake adjustments. Whether you're a beginner or experienced cyclist, anyone can register for this course. No previous experience is required, and the minimum age for participants is 12 years (under 16 must be accompanied by an adult). During the workshop, you will learn how to replace a brake cable and adjust your brakes. We recommend bringing your own bike, but if you prefer, we can provide one for you. We will supply all the required tools, protective equipment, and work stands. Please wear clothing that you don't mind getting dirty, as there will be grease and grime involved. Aprons and gloves will also be provided. If you're interested, the opportunity to purchase tools will be available. The event is free to attend, although we appreciate any donations, which will help us continue our community work. To book your spot or if you have any questions, please call 01592 858458 or email info@greenerkirkcaldy.org.uk. Please note that the workshop will take place upstairs, and unfortunately, there is no lift access. There are 22 steps in total from the ground floor to the workshop (14 if you enter the building from the rear entrance). If you have any accessibility concerns, feel free to reach out to us. Join us on November 18, 2023, at Lang Toun Cycles, located at 245 High Street, Kirkcaldy, KY1 1JF. Come and enhance your bike maintenance skills and ensure a quick stop with well-adjusted brakes.
