Join AmpSurf and RAPID at the beautiful Nye Beach in Newport, OR for an incredible Learn to Surf Clinic on July 20 & 21. This clinic is specifically designed for individuals with disabilities, veterans, and first responders. The power of Adaptive Surf Therapy will be shared, providing a unique opportunity for participants to experience the healing effects of the ocean and adaptive surfing. The schedule for participants is as follows: Arrive at 8:00 a.m. for check-in and suiting up, followed by dry land instruction from 8:30-9:00 a.m. The main event, in-water surf instruction, will take place from 9:00-11:00 a.m. After a well-deserved lunch break, the clinic will conclude with tear down and wrap up from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. To ensure that everyone's needs are met, participants are encouraged to contact AmpSurf in advance. AmpSurf will provide the necessary equipment, including surfboards, wetsuits, rash guards, and a beach wheelchair if needed. Participants should bring their own swimsuits, towels, sunscreen, picture ID, snacks, and water. There is a $25 registration fee to reserve a spot, but grants are available for veterans and first responders who may need financial assistance. Volunteers play a crucial role in making these clinics possible. If you're interested in joining as a volunteer, please arrive at 7:00 a.m. for setup and attend a briefing at 7:30 a.m. The day will be filled with fulfilling experiences and rewarding moments.
