The UC San Diego Center for Hellenic Studies is proud to present the Annual Ranglas Lecture: The Blues of Achilles: Homer’s Iliad in Performance. This captivating event features The Blues of Achilles, a 17-song musical adaptation of Homer's epic tale. The production skillfully combines elements of classical literature and contemporary war themes to convey the grief, horror, and love experienced by iconic characters such as Achilles, Patroklus, Priam, Chryseis, Briseis, Andromache, and more. Chicago-based singer/songwriter Joe Goodkin, with his extensive expertise in music and a Classics BA from UW-Madison, will take the stage as the guest speaker. Mr. Goodkin has performed his own song retellings of the Odyssey and Iliad over 450 times across all 50 US states and Europe. This event will be held on January 24, 2024, at Scholars Drive North in San Diego, California. Admission is free, making it an opportunity not to be missed. Got the all day dining pass with my tickets and it was so worth it! A meal in seaworld already costs around 20 USD and the all day dining perk allows you to get a entree + side + drink for FREE every 90mins! It was so worth it. The shows and rides were also so fun to watch and ride! Seaworld is mostly catered to young children so I didn&rsquo;t have to wait long on the rollercoasters. The park is pretty big so highly recommended to get there early!

The ticket was very useful. I booked it one evening in advance and received the entry code in the morning. It is worth going. I went in the afternoon and walked for 4 hours. There was no queue for the cable car on Friday evening. I like to see tigers and elephants and ride the cable car the most.
