It’s all about sharing some laughs while supporting a great cause. Don't miss this chance to have fun and make a difference—come hang out with some food, a free drink and enjoy the show! For those who don’t know me, I’m Matt… & in January of 2026 I ended up in the hospital because I had extreme abdominal pain, within a few hours I was told there was a large tumor in my kidney... Doctors said, possible cancer... Within 1 month of scans and numerous amount of tests I was upgraded to Stage 4 kidney cancer — which, just to be clear.. it was not the kind of promotion I was going for... To describe how I felt in the moments after being diagnosed - was indescribable. I just turned 43 in December, my beautiful wife and I had just celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary. My daughter just went off to University, we have our two young boys still at home with us in the home we worked so hard to create, to build. My business TruNorth Concrete Pumping just kicking off - life was feeling pretty great - but then you hear a word that you don't expect... and all of a sudden everything changes. One thing that I have replayed in my head over time, is how I really didn't have any BIG warning signs leading to my cancer diagnosis. A bit of night sweats - which I learned later on was key sign of kidney cancer - but there no clear indication that this is what I would be dealing with in today's time. Since being diagnosed - learning as much as I can about my cancer has been my top priority - the things I put in my body, what helps me mentally through each day & raising awareness for other young men or women who keep " putting it off " to advocate for themselves if something doesn't feel right, it probably isnt. - just trying to turn this really tough situation my family and I have been through, a better one for someone else. This night isn't about the sad, mad, poor me... I promise - but I know sharing my story is important & I only hope that by doing so I can help someone else who may be in my situation one day. One thing I have learned through this all is how important time is - TIME - with family, friends, laughing, sharing, being together & enjoying life. I appreciate the support that all of you have shown my family and I... But realistically tonight is about the show, the food, drinks and just having a good time together - because we aren't promised tomorrow. So we figured… if life’s going to throw something this ridiculous at me, we might as well laugh about it a little — and raise some money while we’re at it. That’s kind of where Tumor Humour came from. It’s not just a clever name… it’s pretty much how I’m choosing to deal with all of this right now. If you can, grab some 50/50 tickets, support the cause — but most importantly, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Information Source: eventbrite
