Dr. Dylan Yamada-Rice is a distinguished researcher and artist specializing in digital play and storytelling for children. With a doctorate in Education and MA degrees in Research Methods, Early Childhood Education, and Japanese Semiotics, her work effortlessly bridges the realms of academia and the kids media industry. She currently holds the position of Associate Professor in Immersive Storytelling at the University of Plymouth and is the Co-Founder of the renowned digital storytelling studio, X||dinary Stories. Dr. Yamada-Rice is simultaneously engaged in multiple exciting projects. One of them, funded by ESRC, explores children's perspectives on digital good and bad. Another, funded by AHRC, involves the creation of a captivating video game centered around treescapes for children. Additionally, she is working on an immersive theatre performance critiquing AI, which has received funding from the Arts Council Northern Ireland.
