The exhibition "Framed Nature: Gardens and Imagination" brings together artworks from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston's global collection to explore the similarities and differences of gardens across different eras and regions. Visitors can appreciate beloved classics as well as masterpieces never before publicly exhibited. All works revolve around the theme of the garden, showcasing its essence as a fertile ground for human creativity and imagination. From monumental tapestries to intricately detailed Chinese scroll paintings, a variety of artworks create illusions of garden spaces. Modern and contemporary prints, drawings, photographs, and paintings immerse visitors in a rich tapestry of the artificial and the natural world.
