The Suyeong area has been rich in marine resources since ancient times and was the earliest place in Busan where fishing developed. Especially during the Joseon Dynasty, with the establishment of the Gyeongsang Fishing and Fishing Camp, "fishing houses," jointly formed by fishermen and the navy, came into being. The "Fishing and Fishing House Play," based on the fishing process of that time, has been preserved and passed down to this day. The Gwangalli Fishing House Festival, named after "fishing houses," symbolizes the continuation of this tradition and is a representative festival in Busan themed around the Gyeongsang Fishing and Fishing Camp and traditional fishing village customs.
