Experience the joy of Creative Movement at DYT's Place in Bradford. Join the weekly movement sessions led by Orla Collier, a highly skilled performer, choreographer, and teacher. This unique programme is designed for Northern Creatives who are eager to explore their own way of moving. Whether you have some movement experience or are a professional artist, this session provides a space for self-discovery and self-expression. Each session begins with a thorough warm-up to prepare your body and mind for movement. You will then engage in a series of movement tasks that encourage self-curiosity and choice-making. Orla will guide you through the session, offering tasks, questions, and prompts to help you explore your unique way of moving. The second part of the session involves learning a short piece of choreography, which you will then have the opportunity to personalize and make your own. Orla's passion for emotional expression through movement and theatre shines through her work. Her recent pieces, including 'Endormore' and 'You're Here (Hooray!)', have been showcased at festivals and events in the North of England, connecting with audiences on a deep level. With a background in prestigious institutions such as Rambert School and Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Orla brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her teaching. The sessions are run on a voluntary Pay as you Feel basis, allowing you to contribute what you can. The suggested donation is £5, and you can pay by cash or card at the end of the session.
