Covering what candidates need to do in order to win, this training reviews where to start and how to build a successful campaign. It covers how to research and build your campaign team, getting to know your district to target your messaging, fundraising guidance, how to be metrics-driven, establishing a vote goal, knowing your message and how to use it to connect with voters. First-time candidates, incumbents, and future officeholders alike will benefit tremendously from these key lessons. Sarah Reidy-Jones is the North Carolina Executive Director of American Majority and American Majority Action. Sarah brings nearly 30 years of institutional knowledge within conservative politics, including grassroots organization, spokesperson expertise, event assistance, fundraising and membership growth. Her public service ranges from City Hall to the Board of Elections to the Governor’s Office to the White House. She previously consulted on local, statewide and federal races, specializing in media and crisis communications, including as a senior staffer for a presidential campaign and a gubernatorial campaign manager in both Kentucky and North Carolina. (2) What Every School Board Member Should Know Runnng for office is no small commitment, but the task of governing is where the real work begins. In this session, you’ll hear from Jennifer Naylor, a Sampson County school board member elected in 2024, about the lessons incoming (and returning) board members should know, strategies for effective school leadership, and how to identify and avoid common pitfalls in office. You’ll also learn about the most frequent challenges board members face and the best strategies for overcoming them, while being a steadfast advocate for student achievement. Whether you’re a current board member, planning to rung for office, or seeking a clearer understanding of education governance, this session is for you. Jennifer Naylor was born and raised in Sampson County, NC in the Clement community. She is married to her husband Michael and is the proud mom of their daughter, Etta Kaye. Jennifer works in sales at Mary Mack’s in Clinton, NC and currently serves on the Sampson County Board of Education, where she was sworn in in July 2024. Prior to her current role, she spent 13 years in public education, serving as a teacher, coach, athletic director, and most recently six years as a high school assistant principal. She is a proud graduate of Midway High School, UNC Wilmington, and East Carolina University, and in her free time, she enjoys spending time at the beach. Debate: NC Triad Data Centers | First Baptist Church

Come join us for a Braver Angels debate that's as much about the heart as the head. Learn what people really think and why! Note: This *FREE* event is to be attended in person. Join us for a friendly and intellectually engaging experience you won't find anywhere else! Listen to speeches for or against the resolution — and then share your own, if you feel so moved. (And there's no pressure, but we hope you will!) Here's the night's topic: Resolved: There should be a moratorium on new data centers. Note: This resolution does not represent Braver Angels' stance on the issue. We will alternate between speeches in support of and against the resolution. Tickets are free, but donations help. Use promo code BRAVER during registration to get a free ticket. Donations support Braver Angels, 501(c)3. A Braver Angels debate is about the heart as much as the head. It's a highly structured conversation in which a group of people think together, listen to one another carefully and with curiosity, and allow themselves to be touched by each other’s ideas. It's not a political debate, nor is it like your high school debate club. It's our own depolarizing debate system, and it works best when we embrace our uncertainty and parse the shades of grey together. When we manage to do this, we walk out of a Braver Angels debate a little closer to the truth, more aware of the sincere and sympathetic feelings of our political opponents, with our relationships a little stronger. To learn more about our debates, you can take a look at our quick start guide and this video about the spirit of a Braver Angels Debate . For further information, including to find additional upcoming events or view recordings of some of our past debates please visit: https://braverangels.org/what-we-do/debates/ . This debate is a free event brought to you by Braver Angels as part of our mission to depolarize America. We invite you to consider a gift to Braver Angels; all donations are tax deductible. Your support will allow us to offer more workshops and debates with the ultimate goal of uniting America. You will have an opportunity to make a donation as you register, if you so choose. Your choice will have no bearing on your registration. Braver Angels events may be recorded, and may be shared with the news media or used in Braver Angels publications, including web pages. Participants who object to being recorded may notify the organizer. Questions? Contact kblatham@aol.com or lmccoy@braverangels.org Information Source: Braver Angels | eventbrite
