Albert Paley initially began his artistic journey as a jeweler, but soon expanded his horizons to encompass larger-scaled metalworks, including furniture and architectural sculptures. Under the influence of his teacher and metalsmith, Stanley Lechtzin, Paley delved into the purpose, method, and meaning of modern jewelry, expressing his innovative ideas through his impressive sculptural compositions.

In 1974, Paley gained international recognition when he was commissioned by the Renwick Gallery to design and fabricate the renowned Portal Gates. This pivotal work marked a turning point in Paley's career, as he transitioned into becoming an artist-blacksmith, utilizing ferrous metal to create pieces that skillfully combine organic forms inspired by European art nouveau and postwar American abstract expressionism. Paley himself aptly summarized his artistic process, stating, "The only thing that's really alive is the process of creation. After that, it is gone, it's only past reference."

In 2022, the Orlando Museum of Art received a remarkable gift from the Estate of Clarice R. Smith – a decorative screen created through the collaboration of painter Clarice Smith and Albert Paley. This exquisite triptych, which captures the timeless beauty of design, took center stage in two highly acclaimed exhibitions: one in 2016 at the Kreeger Museum in Washington D.C. and another in 2020 at the prestigious Park Avenue Armory in New York City.

It&rsquo;s more fun inside, but it may be because of the weather caused by the tornado. Many outdoor activities can&rsquo;t be played. On the day we went, many tourists queued for more than 40 minutes. There is no place to stay in the middle of heavy rain. The chicken is lost, but it is worth going with children.
