Elijah is a writer, DJ, and lecturer with 15 years in the independent music and culture scene in London. His learning from running a Grime label, managing artists and being an artistic director and cultural documenter are distilled across his project the ‘Yellow Squares’ a short form notes project on Instagram. Elijah has shared over 1000 ‘Yellow Squares’ on creativity, music scenes, the future of social media, and the culture industry over the last 3 years, and has compiled the best of those in his debut book ‘Close The App, Make The Ting’. Elijah’s presentation will take you through the journey of the project, the creative process, the ideas in it, and why he’s working towards ‘completing’ the project. There will be an extensive live Q&A covering all his recent topics, like why ‘rent is the creative director’, and why ‘if you love music, you should learn how to DJ’, and ‘what artists can learn from pro wrestling’ and ‘an optimistic take on the next five years in Black British Culture’.
Over the last three years he’s lectured in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, The Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, India, Brazil, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Norway, Ireland, Turkey, The Netherlands, Estonia, the USA and across the UK. He’s released an album with Grime MC Jammz, written for The Guardian, The Face, guest edited Resident Advisor, created visual installations and launched grant funds for creatives globally.

I saw cute animals, like ducks and birds. If you keep walking, you can reach Stanley Park Seawall to enjoy the beautiful sunset and cozy breeze from the ocean.

It is really a once-in-a-lifetime train experience. In September 2019, the weather in Canada was very suitable. It was amazing to take a train and experience the colorful mountains. The train company held a grand farewell ceremony before departure for the train at Vancouver Railway Station. This gave me a pleasant surprise. Not only did the train have Chinese service staff to introduce the scenery along the way, but there was also a food experience. Sitting on the train and looking at the scenery of the Rocky Mountains and eating Michelin meals, it really can&#39;t be described in words. The ticket price is indeed not cheap. I was a little hesitant before booking, but after the experience, I felt that the money was worth it. Also, I thought it would be boring on the train before leaving, but I didn&#39;t expect there were still a lot of activities. I couldn&#39;t stop taking pictures, especially the glass dome, which was like watching an IMAX blockbuster. Soon the wonderful day passed. The Queen&#39;s favorite train is indeed well-deserved, making my wife and I feel very noble. . .
