Embodied Altars: Indigenized Open-Level Contemporary Dance Class welcomes participants to step into their Altar, a transformative space where ancient and contemporary movement modalities converge. This class, led by Indigenous Mexican-American artist Alicia Mulliken, offers a unique opportunity for both seasoned dancers and newcomers to explore the powerful artistry of contemporary dance. By weaving together ancient and modern movement techniques, participants can delve into authentic exploration and storytelling.

Indigenous principles are integrated into the class, providing a platform to practice gratitude, honor the land, and acknowledge our ancestors. This connection to Indigenous heritage brings forth a profound sense of identity and radical reclamation. The class is inclusive and open to individuals of all backgrounds who are interested in movement, intention setting, and discovering their own stories.

Taking place at the Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center in Seattle, Washington, this mirrorless class fosters a safe and communal environment for participants to share and explore movement. The venue is fully accessible, with ADA bathrooms and a wheelchair lift to the second floor. Ample parking is available on-site and along the road leading to Daybreak Star, ensuring convenience for all attendees.

To participate, simply bring water, wear comfortable dance attire, and come with an open mind and heart. This event is produced by the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation in partnership with El Sueno Dance & Daybreak Star Radio. If you like to take the bus, you can also do so. The bus station is just below the parking lot. There are many buses and the waiting time is not long. It is very convenient.

When traveling, I always want to visit the local universities&mdash;it feels like living a different life for a moment. Especially when it&rsquo;s such a famous public university like the University of Washington. Gary Locke, former Microsoft chairman&hellip; they all graduated from UW. Bill Gates&rsquo; father, a well-known lawyer, once taught at its law school. Bruce Lee also studied here, and it was where he met his wife.

Later, I visited UW&rsquo;s Suzzallo Library&mdash;often referred to as the real-life &ldquo;Harry Potter Library.&rdquo; It grandeur rivals that of the Boston Public Library. The UW School of Medicine also ranks extremely high, consistently alongside Harvard and Stanford. Its programs in clinical medicine and public health are also highly ranked.

It&#39;s close to Amazon and Microsoft headquarters, and it collaborates closely with tech companies like Google and Meta, so its research funding is high.
