Parc Rives de Seine

Every summer, the banks of the Seine in Paris transform into a seaside paradise. Bungalows, lounge chairs, palm trees… everything is designed for you to fully enjoy summer, and this time it's not just for couples, but can be experienced in three main locations: Parc Rives de Seine, Bassin de la Villette, and Canal Saint-Martin! A variety of activities are available for visitors of all ages: swimming and water sports in Bassin de la Villette, as well as children's workshops, board games, books, exhibitions, and many other entertainment options. The 2026 Paris Plages festival will have an American theme, celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence.

The inaugural exhibition in this series is dedicated to the recently deceased artist Françoise Gilot. In addition to her renowned 1965 book, *Vivre avec Picasso*, the exhibition will trace Gilot's artistic career, from her collaborations with the "New Realism" group to her grand and symbolic "iconic paintings" of the 1980s.

At the invitation of the Musée national Picasso-Paris, Argentine artist Guillermo Kuitca (b. 1961) has created a site-specific work in the chapel of the Hôtel Salé. Since his intervention at the Venice Biennale in 2007, Kuitca has developed a new language, echoing the architecture, which the artist calls ‘cubistoid painting', in which a set of intersecting lines, like so many folds in the plane, is deployed directly on the walls, forming a new pictorial space.
