The Giant Lantern Festival dates back to 1908. The original lanterns were relatively simple, but with the passage of time and the development of technology, the design and production of lanterns have become more complex and spectacular. The festival is jointly participated by 8 to 10 villages in San Fernando City, each of which creates its own unique design, color combination, and interaction of light and sound. San Fernando City is also known as the "Lantern Capital". 
The giant lanterns with a diameter of 18 feet are equipped with nearly 7,000 light bulbs, which flash in sync with the melody of Philippine Christmas songs through multiple rotating devices. These giant lanterns display no less than 10 distinctive designs, including geometric shapes, flowers, fans, cones and hearts. They emit rainbow colors, which are dazzling~
At night, rounds of colorful lanterns bring extraordinary meaning to ordinary nights. They are lanterns and blessings from the Filipino people for the future~
