Improv 2: Authentic Relationships is a six-week course designed for adults (18+) who are interested in exploring the art of improvisation. This course focuses on the importance of authentic relationships and how they contribute to successful improvisation. Led by experienced instructor Steven Burnett, participants will engage in a variety of acting exercises that enhance their ability to connect with their scene partner on a deeper level. By prioritizing wants/objectives, specificity, and emotional receptivity, participants will learn to tap into moment-to-moment play and develop heightened multi-sensory awareness. To register for this course, participants will need an access code from their previous instructor. The course will take place on Tuesdays from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM, starting on November 14, 2023. The venue for the course is STUDIO A, located at Leela Training Center, 901 Mission Street, San Francisco. The center is conveniently situated just one block away from the Powell MUNI/BART station, making it easily accessible for participants. On the day of the course, participants are required to meet inside the lobby of the SF Chronicle Building at the 901 Mission entrance by 6:55 PM. They should wait in the lobby next to the security guard until a Leela representative arrives to greet them and direct them to the classroom.
