Join Annabel Hill for an exciting workshop in Barnstaple, where you can discover the art of Monoprinting while immersing yourself in the natural beauty of vegetables. In this hands-on class, you will be inspired by the fantastic shapes and vibrant colors of vegetables to create your own unique stencils. You will also have the opportunity to incorporate real leaves, thread, and netting into your prints. By learning the techniques of inking up and using a small printing press, you will be able to produce up to four high-quality prints, each measuring 17 x 24cm. Whether you are a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is designed for everyone. Drawings will be available to trace, ensuring that beginners feel comfortable and can fully participate. All materials are included, so you can simply come and enjoy the creative process. Annabel Hill, a talented designer and printmaker, draws inspiration from the natural environment surrounding her studio in Appledore, North Devon. Her Textile Design degree has equipped her with the skills to create patterns derived from images and drawings of plant life. She has honed her focus on botanical imagery from hedgerows and rock pools in North Devon, using her collection of presses to create a diverse range of prints. These prints are then transformed into patterns using digital software and transferred onto natural fabrics. In addition to monoprinting, Annabel also creates block prints and screen prints. Please note that this workshop will take place in our new venue at The Corn Store, part of Barnstaple's Pannier Market. The venue offers disabled access and toilets.
