Join us for the launch of Intuition Maps, Beccy Mccray's new co-created artwork at Irchester Country Park. Migration is a solution not a problem Intuition Maps is a co-created artwork which invites participants and visitors to reflect on animal instincts - their own and that of the more-than-human world - in the context of climate change adaptation. It aims to generate a sense of solidarity and interconnectedness with nature and each other. A new and unexpected woodland walking route has been developed by feeding maps created by local participants and local wildlife data, through an bespoke AI algorithm. The resulting route markers, from totemic to tiny, will help the general public to use their own intuition to navigate the route, whilst providing sanctuary for local migratory butterfly species overwintering in the UK due to the changing climate. Intuition Maps will launch with a walk led by Beccy offering further insight into the work. Intuition Maps is funded by Northamptonshire Community Foundation’s Creative Climate Action Fund. Please note: Intuition Maps features an unconventional route through the woods at Irchester Country Park. Please dress appropriately for the weather and the conditions under foot.
