Ellis Brigham Knowledge Nights are all about sharing our outdoor experience. Along with guest speakers and partners, we will give you the tools you need to tackle your next adventure. From tips and tricks on getting the most out of your gear to advice on destinations and preparing for your next expedition. We will cut through the jargon and give you no-nonsense advice. Winter can be a difficult time to keep running motivation up. Daylight hours are short, the weather unpredictable and underfoot conditions challenging. It's also the season when getting out for a run becomes ever more important to keep us happy and healthy. Discover kit essentials for winter trails, top tips for training in winter, how to plan for winter mountain routes including interpreting weather and avalanche forecasts and get the low down on appropriate use of crampons vs microspikes. Demo: We will have Montane running packs for you to test along with some Petzl headtorches. The route will be roughly 5km long. If you don’t fancy the run, you are welcome to join for just the talk also. Times: 18:00- Meet in-store ready to run, and grab what demo gear you might want to try. 18:15- Head out for a run 5km in length 19:00- Grab a refreshment and a seat, talk starts. 20:30- Finish Run the Highlands: Run The Highlands are an experienced team of runners, mountain leaders and coaches. We offer year-round guided running experiences, skills courses and bespoke guiding. Based out of Fort William, we use the surrounding trails and mountains as the setting to develop your running skills and confidence.
