The Learn to Ride sessions are designed to equip young riders with the essential skills needed to ride a bike independently. Held outdoors at the Dalby Forest Cycle Hub in Thornton Dale, these sessions offer a safe and dedicated bike training area near the Hub. Qualified cycle instructors lead the sessions, bringing a wealth of experience in teaching children to ride. Children are encouraged to use their own bikes during the course to become familiar with their ride, but free bike rentals are available upon request. Helmets must be worn during the session, and suitable clothing for outdoor weather conditions is advised. Participants will learn how to mount and dismount the bike, balance, steer, and brake effectively in small groups of up to 4 riders, with a maximum age limit of 10. For those without a bike, free rentals can be arranged by contacting the Hub. To ensure a smooth start, arriving 15 minutes before the session begins is recommended.
