Personalità celebre per il contributo offerto alla medicina e all’umanesimo medico, Comel emerge quale mecenate illuminato e raffinato collezionista. Tra i capolavori esposti si annoverano dipinti di Gerolamo Induno, Moses Levy, Giovanni Lomi, Arturo Tosi, Lorenzo Delleani, Giuseppe Palanti, Carlo Sbisà e Arturo Nathan nonché opere su carta di Telemaco Signorini, Mario Sironi, Filippo De Pisis e Renato Guttuso. La piena fruibilità dei pezzi esposti è stata resa possibile da un’ingente campagna di restauri, che ha contribuito a far riemergere l’originalità e la qualità della collezione. Viene inoltre esibita un’accurata selezione di disegni dell’artista americana Linda Karshan, appartenenti a diverse fasi della sua carriera. Parte del suo prestigioso lascito alla Fondazione Comel, questo splendido corpus testimonia la rilevanza della collezione Comel nel nostro tempo ed il suo impatto sulle generazioni future. The exhibition displays for the first time a significant body of works from the collection of the founder of the Institutio Santoriana – Fondazione Comel, Professor Marcello Comel (1902-1995). Best known for his life-long commitment to medicine and medical humanities, Comel emerges as a visionary Maecenas and a distinguished collector. The selection of masterpieces includes paintings by Gerolamo Induno, Moses Levy, Giovanni Lomi, Arturo Tosi, Lorenzo Delleani, Giuseppe Palanti, Carlo Sbisà and Arturo Nathan, as well as works on paper by Telemaco Signorini, Mario Sironi, Filippo De Pisis and Renato Guttuso. A full appreciation of the masterpieces on display has been granted by a significant restoration campaign, which contributed to unearthing the originality and quality of the collection. Furthermore, the show unveils a suite of drawings by American artist Linda Karshan, belonging to various stages of her career. Forming the core of her prestigious gift to the Fondazione Comel, these magnificent artworks document the relevance of Comel’s collection in the present and its impact upon the future generations.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa is located in the Pisa Cathedral in the central Italian city of Pisa, the church&#39;s independent bell tower. The Leaning Tower of Pisa is a long-standing and legendary building known for its unique tilt angle, and the wooden tower of Yingxian in China and the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France, are known as the world&#39;s three major chittals. The Leaning Tower of Pisa was built in 1173 and was built by Nano Pisano, originally designed to be vertically built. Due to unstable foundations and soft soil, the tower began to tilt southeast only a year after construction began. In 1178, the clock tower was built to the fourth floor, and the tilt became more obvious, so the work was forced to stop. In 1231, half a century later, in order to correct the tilted tower, the project began to be built in the opposite direction. In 1278, the clock tower was built to the seventh floor, and it was obvious that the tower was curved, and the top of the tower was prominent. In the centuries that followed, architects tried various methods to correct it, but the tower continued to tilt. In 1990, the leaning angle of the tower reached the maximum, and the top of the tower was prominent. Due to the large tilt angle, the tower was closed again and the center of gravity of the tower was adjusted by the &quot;earth extraction method&quot;. In 2013, the leaning tower finally stopped the tilting trend. After professional measurement, the current tilt angle of the leaning tower of Pisa is 3.99 &deg;, and the top of the tower is prominently grounded 4.5 meters.

The large lawns of the Miracle Square are scattered with a cluster of religious buildings, the cathedral (built in 1063-13th century), the Baptist Church (built in 1153-14th century), the Bell Tower (the Leaning Tower of Pisa) and the Cemetery (built in 1174). Their exterior walls are made of milky white marble, each relatively independent but formed a unified Roman architectural style. They are all masterpieces of architectural history, and the Miracle Square is one of the center of the medieval art that has a profound impact on future architectural design.
