Can you hear that, Nice Movers? It’s the sweet sound of our upcoming September Monthly Meetup! For our speakers, we're excited to have two Minnesota composers, Charlie McCarron and Marty Brueggemann talk about their process making music for the award-winning animation LUKi & the Lights, which was chosen by Whoopi Goldberg to screen at Tribeca. Come learn how to collaborate with composers and orchestral musicians for your film's soundtrack. Here’s a little more about our speakers: Charlie McCarron runs Film Score Fest, a St. Paul-based festival that pairs filmmakers and composers to create short films with live orchestral scoring. In addition to film scoring and songwriting, he enjoys creating board games and medieval-style paintings. Marty Brueggemann is a composer/producer whose music has appeared on Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, ABC, CBS, BBC and elsewhere around the world. Along with composing & orchestrating, Marty is a record producer at Honeytone Studios, working with his gifted production partners to support the vision of artists & bands. A little further out, about a 10-15 min walk are the ABC Ramps, which can be a bit cheaper and are easy to get to. The building is also conveniently right off the Hennepin Goverment Plaza Light Rail Station, if you are taking public transit. Once you are inside, look for the first floor conference rooms. We will hopefully be able to put signs up directing you to the Nice Moves meetup, but there will also be board members there to guide you. If you enter from the 6th street entrance, go to your left, and if you enter from the 5th street entrance, go to the far end and right.
