Quip Shed Comedy @ The George & Dragon Join us for a night of laughter at the George & Dragon in Thames Ditton this December! This month's line-up features some of the absolute best acts on the circuit: Russell Hicks, Jon Long, Michael May, and host Lyle Barke! Jon Long is a stand up and musical comedian. His cheery and affable stage presence and host of acerbic comedy songs have seen him become a favourite on the London live circuit, performing and hosting at the capital’s most established clubs such as: Angel Comedy, Top Secret, and The Comedy Store, as well as all round the UK and Europe. Jon has been a frequent visitor to the Edinburgh Fringe, hosting the prestigious AAA Showcase at The Pleasance in 2018, and in 2019 making his critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe solo-show debut with ‘Planet Killing Machine’ produced by Mick Perrin Worldwide. Following the success of ‘Planet Killing Machine’ Jon developed the show for BBC Radio 4, and in 2021, ‘Extinction Compendium’ (written and presented by Jon) made its very first broadcast. Jon has since recorded and broadcast three further episodes for Radio 4, titled ‘Carbon Lifeforms’ alongside climate scientist Dr. Tara Shine. He is currently providing tour support for Chris McCausland, and has supported Jonathan Pie for some dates n his UK tour of ‘Heroes & Villains’. Michael May is one of the most exciting new comedians on the UK circuit. Already a regular MC up and down the country, Michael’s unique take on the world is a hit with audiences everywhere. Michael’s writing prowess continues to grow as his second sitcom script has peaked interest with more than one comedy commissioner. Michael’s warm and open style has proven to be a winning formula for corporate functions as his unflappable smile has seen him sail through numerous awards ceremonies and private functions in the last year. Feedback from clients is always superlative and the bookings just keep coming. Undeniably, one to watch! Russell Hicks is one of the UK’s most razor-sharp and exciting comic talents. An American based in London, he is a provocative and exuberant comedian with a rockstar edge, and has appeared on some of the UK’s biggest TV networks, including Channel 4, BBC and ITV. Russell headlines at every major club across the UK, including The Stand, Glee Club and Up the Creek, and holds a residency at Top Secret Comedy Club in London. He also compères major events like the Leeds and Reading Festivals, as well as curated indie venues, historic theatres like the Hammersmith Apollo, and private members clubs across Europe. Russell regularly entertains studio audiences at Have I Got News For You, The Last Leg, and As Yet Untitled. He is a Spotlight registered actor and enjoys both comic and dramatic roles. This is alongside his Stateside work with legendary Hollywood clubs The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory. We cannot wait to see you there!
