Learn the art of Reduction Linocut Printmaking at the upcoming event in Jacksonville. Taking place on December 2, 2023, at 320 E Adams St, this workshop will teach participants how to create a stunning 3 color reduction print using linoleum blocks. Reduction printmaking allows artists to produce multiple prints of an original image by using an inked block that has been meticulously crafted by the artist. This particular workshop will focus on relief printing, where areas that will not be printed are carefully cut away, leaving the raised portions to be inked. Instead of using separate blocks for each color, the reduction method will be applied, with one block being carved away after each color is applied. Participants will have the opportunity to create three editions of their prints. All necessary supplies, including water-based print inks, will be provided.
