Experience the beauty and serenity of the LA River at the upcoming event, River Session #2 | MILE 27-26: Elysian Valley/ Frogtown. Taking place at the Glendale Narrows Riverwalk in Glendale, this guided walk will allow you to explore the emotional impact of the River and the surrounding watershed. Led by poets Nancy Lynée Woo and Mike the Poet, this event is part of a community-led, multi-disciplinary art project that aims to reflect on the LA River, climate change, social justice, and the emotional interconnectivity of these phenomena.

During the walk, participants will have the opportunity to learn about river ecosystems and site histories from poets, artists, Indigenous Culture Bearers, and ecologists. Through prompts and personal insights, you can unleash your creative side and write about your connection to nature and self. The experience will conclude with a supportive opportunity to share your work.

Don't miss this chance to connect with LA Poets and immerse yourself in one of the most beautiful locations along the LA River/ Paayme Paxaayt. Please come prepared with water, a hat, and comfortable walking shoes. Notebooks and pens will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own. All participants will be invited to contribute their work for possible inclusion in a zine and/or performance as part of the Creative Corps collaboration with Nancy Woo.

Registration for this event is required, and by registering, you are acknowledging and consenting to our photo release and liability waiver. This event is open to individuals of all learning and writing levels and requires no prior ecology or writing experience.
