Part of our monthly Saturday improv drop-in workshop series at The Old Hairdressers
Use Your Mug with Chloe Turner
Physical comedy can sometimes feel a little daunting. In this workshop we'll be exploring how to use your physicality to communicate to your scene partner and to the audience. This can include facial expressions, body language, stage blocking and just general physical playfullness. A fun non-verbal reaction will entertain an audience whilst giving you space and time to consider your next game move- a win win!
This workshop will support participants to:
- Identify ways they can use their physicality to add to their scenes
- Feel more comfortable embracing silence in scenes whilst still supporting your scene partner and giving the audience something to enjoy
- Listen to their scene partner and meaningfully react
This workshop will involve movement so please wear clothes you feel comfortable moving in. If you require any adjustments to participate in the workshop please contact either Glasgow Improv Theatre or let Chloe know at the beginning of the workshop and we can alongside you to ensure you are able to fully participate.
Chloe is a member of GIT's house team 'Raintown' where she can often be found rolling on the floor or pretending to be a seal. She performs regularly at the GIT and even occassionally dabbles in shows with the Improv Cooperative and Falling & Laughing. When she was just a wee lass, she was heavily involved in student theatre directing and stage managing shows at Edinburgh Fringe, Glasgow School of Art and Cottiers Theatre. Now that she's a grown up she intends to spend her savings training to be a clown, like all good adults should.
