Skate the Town: Oct 29 is an exciting event taking place in Oakland at the newly-reopened Henry J. Kaiser Center for Arts. This pop-up indoor roller rink is the perfect opportunity for skaters of all levels to roll through time and enjoy a unique experience at Oakland's historic performing arts venue.

The event series will run for 12 weeks, with the kickoff event taking place on October 29th, 2023. The schedule for the day includes open skate sessions from 2:30 to 5:00 pm for all ages, followed by a session exclusively for those 18 and up from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. Additionally, there will be a free Rollerdance workshop with Richard Humphrey, founder of Roller Dance, from 3:00 to 4:00 pm.

Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned skater, you can join a skate lesson from 2:30 to 5:00 pm to learn new moves, improve your skills, and connect with fellow skating enthusiasts. Led by Richard Humphrey, a longtime skater and founder of Roller Dance, this lesson promises a fun and enjoyable afternoon of skating, learning, and camaraderie.

As the sun sets, the energy ramps up with talented DJs spinning music to keep you grooving on the floor. Lace up your skates and dance, glide, and groove to the beats until 10:00 pm.

Tickets for this event are available in advance for $20 or at the door for $25. You can bring your own skates or purchase a pair from Quad Republic. Please note that a photo ID is required for entry.

Week 5 of the event series will feature a special Halloween theme on October 29th, with DJ sets, performances, and food and drinks to keep you fueled up all day. If you can't make it to this particular event, don't worry, as Skate the Town is part of a 12-week series, so you can join on another day.

Parking at the venue is limited, so it is recommended to take public transit if possible. The Henry J. Kaiser Center for Arts is a newly-reopened premier arts venue in Oakland, providing a new home for arts and culture in the East Bay.
