StorySlam Oakland, the longest-running true storytelling show in Oakland, invites you to join them for an unforgettable evening of heartfelt and hilarious stories. This month's theme is "Bucket List," allowing storytellers to share their personal experiences and connections to this theme. 

The show follows a simple format, where anyone can submit their name for a chance to take the stage and tell their true story. Storytellers are selected at random from the submissions, providing an opportunity for a diverse range of voices to be heard. In addition to the open-mic storytellers, the event features one or two handpicked Featured Storytellers, known for their exceptional storytelling abilities and captivating presence.

Taking place at the Sound Room in Oakland, this accessible venue offers a welcoming environment for all attendees. During the show, guests can enjoy delicious food and drinks from the Sound Room cafe. There will be an intermission to allow for breaks and further socializing.

To ensure a successful storytelling experience, please adhere to the following rules: stories must be about the individual, true, and approximately 5 to 6 minutes in length. It is important to tell your story aloud, without relying on notes or reading. The goal is to create an intimate and conversational atmosphere, as if you were sharing stories with friends around a dinner table.
