The audio from those tapes and an array of archival footage are the driving forces in composing this complex portrait of the jazz musician. With Louis Armstrong’s Black & Blues, Jenkins takes the viewer behind the famous grin of the musician to explore Armstrong's multifaceted experience as a Black American musician. Director Sacha Jenkins will be joining us via Zoom. Sacha Jenkins is a New York-based filmmaker who typically makes music-based documentaries that meet at the intersection between the sounds and the climate that created the sounds. He loves his family, animals and long barefoot walks on the beach.
