3:30-:5pm Screening (15-30 min after sunset)—Film Order: Video Letter Exchange (2024); Video Letter (1983)As a way to highlight the video letter exchange format that accompanied the rise of video discussed in the Community of Images exhibition, CCJ and JASGP commissioned a group of four contemporary video artists to produce today’s video letter exchange. A nod to the Video Letter (1983), a remarkable 64-minute compilation ­exchange of video letters that took place between video artists Shuji Terayama and Shuntaro Tanikawa, the contemporary exchange is led by Philadelphia-based artist Nadia Hironaka, who organized an exchange with US and Japan-based artists Shinpei Takeda (San Diego), Hikaru Suzuki (Tokyo) and Yu Araki (Kyoto). Before the screening, Philadelphia-based Japanese-Taiwanese artist Eiko Fan will perform her Live Wood Sculpture.  Co-presentation by Collaborative Cataloging Japan, Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia Society of Greater Philadelphia, and cinéSPEAK, with Sponsorship by Asian Arts Initiative

Philadelphia was once the capital of the United States, so there is plenty of history, museums, monuments, and sites around the city. The Philadelphia Museum of Art boasts a nice array of exhibits. I visited on a Friday evening after work because museum admission is free Friday evenings (pay what you wish). I did pay for parking at their garage, which was only $5.

Independence National Historical Park

I feel that the attractions in downtown Philadelphia are really excellent. This monument near the Freedom Bell is unified and managed by National Park. Opposite the Freedom Bell is a large visitor center. Here you can consult the travel guide for Philadelphia. The staff and volunteers here are also very enthusiastic. Help to give travel advice and answer consultation questions. There is also a small souvenir shop here, you can buy refrigerator stickers, books, postcards and other related Philadelphia souvenirs. There is also an exhibition in the visitor center. Although it will be more mini-pocket than the museum, it still does not affect the number of tourists here. If you come by car, there is also a parking lot on the ground floor of the independent palace visitor center for everyone to park. Although parking in downtown Philadelphia is not very convenient, parking spaces are not very easy to find. I recommend everyone to come to the underground parking lot of the visitor center to park. If you come in peak season, you need to come to the visitor center to apply for the ticket for the visit of the Independence Palace first, but I don&rsquo;t know if it&rsquo;s because of the epidemic. You don&rsquo;t need to get a ticket when you come. You can enter the visit directly.
