Join writer Joy Katz on October 13, 2023, for the exciting event, "Write the Neighborhood: Morningside," as part of the popular Walk & Write Tour series hosted by the Office for Public Art in Pittsburgh. This will be the third season of the program, which has previously explored various areas of Pittsburgh such as Downtown, Hazelwood, the North Shore, and the South Side. 

During this hour-and-a-half tour, participants will have the opportunity to discover the beautiful neighborhoods connected to Pittsburgh's rivers and waterways. Led by Katz, attendees will explore the unique walking trails and footpaths along the city's three rivers. As you embark on this journey, you will be encouraged to exercise your creative writing skills by responding to writing prompts provided by Sherrie Flick, the series' organizer, at each tour stop. These prompts are carefully designed to reflect the surroundings of each route, offering a truly immersive experience.

The "Write the Neighborhood: Morningside" tour marks an exciting shift in the Walk & Write series, as Flick will be inviting guest writer Joy Katz to lead the tour in her favorite neighborhood. Katz will read aloud from her own work at each stop, providing inspiration for participants as they explore Morningside. The tour will take place on mostly flat sidewalks, ensuring a comfortable and accessible experience for all.

To join this event, simply head to the corner of Elgin Street and Negley Avenue in Pittsburgh. Street parking is available nearby, and if you prefer to take public transit, there are several stops conveniently located in the surrounding area. Tickets for this unique experience are priced at $5.

Stunning grounds and an incredible selection to view. Easily one of my favourite places to visit in Pittsburgh. The gift shop offers a lot, and the food and drinks selection in the cafe were great, even with special dietary requirements.
