Explore the fascinating world of ekphrasis at the "Writing From Art and Creating From Poems" workshop led by literary artist Christine Stewart-Nuñez. This FREE event will be held at the MHC Gallery in Winnipeg on April 6 from 2-4pm. Ekphrasis, an ancient practice, involves creating art and poetry inspired by each other. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to craft a poem, produce a visual piece, and delve into the connections between these two creative processes. No previous experience in either art form is required as all necessary supplies will be provided. Attendees will leave with a poem, a visual artwork, and fresh insights to enhance their creative endeavors. The workshop will be located on the main floor of MHC Gallery, where visitors can also enjoy the "BrushStrokes & Bluewords" exhibition on the second floor, featuring visual art by Pauline Aitken and text by Christine Stewart-Nuñez. Tickets for the event will go on sale starting March 26 at 6:30 PM.
