Whenever I visit Gu'an, I always choose this hotel. The rooms are spacious, and the surrounding area is fantastic with plenty of dining and shopping options. Central Park is just across the street, perfect for a leisurely stroll after dinner – it's incredibly relaxing. The only downside this time of year is the abundance of poplar catkins, which can be quite annoying.

Service: The front desk staff who checked me in were incredibly patient and attentive; their attitude was truly excellent. The cleaning staff and other service personnel were also very friendly and helpful. Facilities: The twin beds could be combined into a super-king size bed, and the sofa also pulled out into a spacious bed. The best part was having McDonald's right inside the hotel building, and parking was very convenient. Cleanliness: It was neither particularly good nor bad. Perhaps because there were so many guests on the day I checked in, there were a few minor spots that weren't perfectly clean. However, when I contacted housekeeping, they came to clean it thoroughly, and the front desk even thoughtfully asked if I wanted to switch rooms. Environment: Downstairs, there's a lounge area and a play area for children, as well as a deer park. The shuttle bus terminal is just a short walk away. Overall: High value for money, the staff and hotel management are very professional, and the environment is elegant. I've already recommended it to friends before even getting back home.

Traveling solo, I chose The Landy Hotel, and it perfectly matched my aesthetic. The overall design features a simple, natural wood style with no excessive decoration. The room layout felt relaxed and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window framed the garden view like a painting. The outdoor garden is meticulously maintained, with plants thoughtfully arranged and winding paths that make for a wonderfully quiet stroll, far from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities felt high-quality, and the staff were very friendly. I felt incredibly peaceful staying here all day – it’s a great place to unwind and recharge alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Aranya.

The service here was a bit of a letdown. While the facilities were actually better than the InterContinental I stayed at a couple of days ago, the service didn't quite measure up. I booked connecting rooms with king beds, just like before, but when I called ahead, they made all sorts of excuses about not being able to arrange adjoining rooms. The staff's communication skills definitely need improvement. Then, at check-in, they started talking about whether our room was facing the street or not, even though our suite clearly was. High-floor rooms facing the street are bound to be noisy at night, so I'm not sure what the staff was getting at. The biggest rip-off was the breakfast. For such an average buffet, they still charged extra for children, and rooms including breakfast were hundreds more – definitely not worth it. I strongly advise against booking a room with breakfast. I thought the InterContinental's breakfast was bad, but at least they had a wider selection of pastries. Here, the breakfast was barely on par with a budget hotel; it was so bad I almost wanted to complain. The score reflects the facilities, not the breakfast – what a scam! On a positive note, I want to specifically commend the housekeeping department. The housekeeping staff were all incredibly dedicated and conscientious. We only stayed one night and left early the next morning, but the housekeeping attendant patiently kept asking if we needed anything. Thumbs up to them!

An older hotel, but the facilities are still complete and the room was pretty clean. You can't expect too much from an old hotel. It's best to take a Didi (ride-hailing service) from the station; don't just jump into a shared ride, you might get ripped off. It's just outside the city wall, and I personally think staying here is more comfortable than inside the wall. Among the performances, only the iron flower show is worth seeing, but you absolutely need to get there early to secure a good spot, otherwise, you won't be able to watch. The commercial streets are all pretty much the same!

The environment was great. I specifically requested a king-sized bed for my baby, and they happily accommodated, which made my little one super happy rolling around on it. The hotel also had some activities that captivated my baby's attention. The complimentary cable car tickets were a nice bonus too. It gets a bit chilly in the mountains, so make sure to dress warmly.

This stay truly exceeded all expectations. As foreigners visiting Zhangjiakou in December for the first time for both travel and skiing, the overall experience couldn’t have been better — it was absolutely top-notch 👍. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted with a sense of warmth and genuine hospitality. The front desk staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. They immediately noticed that we were traveling with children and had quite a bit of luggage, and proactively offered assistance, which made us feel very well cared for right away. The dining experience was equally impressive. Breakfast offered a wide variety of options to suit different tastes, and the availability of late-night snacks was a wonderful bonus, especially after a long day of skiing. Overall, whether it was the attention to detail at the front desk, the comfort and quality of the accommodation, or the excellent food and beverage service, this hotel truly delivered on all fronts. It’s absolutely an ideal choice for families traveling with children, and we would highly recommend Atour to anyone visiting Zhangjiakou.

Bad check in service at front counter lady. Seems more occupied with her task than guest service. I have to call and request for our sofa bed to be open. Given we book and indicated a family of 4, unlike other hotels whom immediately arrange all additional required items such as toothbrushs, slippers, towels, water, etc. Here I have to call to request for each items. The wifi doesn't work. I have to physically bring my laptop to the front desk for assistance.. and even that was not able to connect. Breakfast, average as the food are abit hard - hard noodles, hotdogs, breads.. Only cons is location near to ski and restaurants but so are a few hotels nearby. Free scheduled public bus shuttle to/fro train station, have to walk about 7 mins to the bus stop. As a Hyatt member, this is the worse Hyatt Place hotels I stayed. I believe surrounding hotels will have better guest services and competitive price too.

On top of that, the complimentary room upgrade for our daughter was such a generous surprise — it truly made her birthday magical. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, helpful, and attentive. The service was flawless, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming throughout our stay. I timed it once, and it took only 5 minutes to sink my feet into the soft sand . No long drives or shuttle waits—perfect for spontaneous morning dips or evening sunset strolls. The sea view experience is exactly what you’d hope for. Every room comes with a large viewing balcony , and the east-facing orientation means unobstructed sunrise views. Waking up, pulling back the curtains, and watching the sun paint the Bohai Sea pink while still in bed? Pure magic. At night, the sound of waves becomes a natural lullaby—total relaxation. The hotel’s little perks add up too. They offer free bicycle rentals, which let me cruise along the coastline and soak in the sea breeze . Pet owners will love that it’s pet-friendly, so you don’t have to leave your furry friend behind. There’s also free private parking , a big plus if you’re driving. The Chinese-style buffet breakfast (served 7:00-10:00 ) hits the spot, and kids under 1.2m eat free—great for families. The only minor downside is the decor, which feels a bit outdated , but it’s easily overlooked for the value. The rooms are clean, with essential amenities like cable TV, showers, slippers, and toiletries , so comfort isn’t compromised. For a 100+ yuan price point , Giranchy Sea View Hotel delivers far more than expected. If you’re after convenience, stunning sunrises, and a laid-back coastal vibe in Qinhuangdao, this is a no-brainer. I’d absolutely book again!
