Family Hotels in Hebei, China

This is our third year celebrating Chinese New Year at the Sheraton Guan. Overall, it's pretty good; the room and dining services are excellent. Just a heads-up for anyone visiting in winter: avoid rooms facing south. They get incredibly hot. The hotel's central AC only blows hot air, and with the direct sunlight, the room becomes unbearable for sleeping. To make matters worse, the windows only open a tiny crack – it was truly a struggle!

It was already noon when we arrived, and the front desk kindly allowed us to check in early. They also prepared the extra bed rail and mineral water we requested. The chaise lounge in the room was incredibly useful for me; my child could play, sleep, and watch TV on it easily. 🍚 Breakfast: For children over 1.2m, there's an extra charge of 40 yuan. The variety was decent, mostly cold cuts or processed sausages for meat, with plenty of carbs, vegetables, and fruits. They also offered a savory milk tea, which was quite good. 🛝 The hotel has a small game room with a mini slide and trampoline, suitable for toddlers. It's a nice touch. 🏊 The pool costs 10 yuan per person for guests, and it's also open to the public. We participated in a promotional event that waived the fee. The changing rooms were clean. The pool isn't huge but sufficient, and there's a small mushroom pool with a higher temperature than the main pool, which was great. My little one had a lot of fun, and you can see the mountains and cable car from outside the pool area, offering nice views. Areas for improvement: We stayed on the 3rd floor. There might have been an odor from the sink, and the bathroom didn't have an exhaust fan, so the air felt stuffy. We kept the windows and doors open, but thankfully, there were no mosquitoes. Overall, I feel we chose the right hotel. After looking around, it seems much better than the Crowne Plaza.

On my way back to Beijing, I passed through Thaiwoo and decided to stay a night. Due to sleep considerations, I chose the Nanshanli Hotel, which is located further inside the scenic area. It was indeed very quiet at night, allowing for a good night's sleep. The room came with a private balcony offering a pleasant mountain view, which was lovely. The room package included breakfast, buffet dinner, afternoon tea, and a circus show. Breakfast was quite crowded on weekends, so I recommend going early or towards the end. The buffet dinner had a good variety of dishes, and I suggest going earlier if possible for better taste. Afternoon tea consisted of four snacks and two cups of Gaiwan tea, which was decent. I didn't get to see the circus show due to time constraints, but I think children would enjoy it. It happened to be a weekend, so there were a lot of people. The environment was great, and I plan to visit again during the off-peak season if I get the chance. The air at night was incredibly fresh and cool.

This time I came during the start of the seafood season, but it wasn't peak season yet, so there were far fewer people. The lower floors were cheaper, while the higher-floor sea view rooms were more expensive. Standard rooms were affordable, but those with family-friendly tents or designs cost more. Currently, the first and second canteens are not open, but they will be during peak season. It's less than a ten-minute walk to the beach. Inside the resort, there are individually-owned electric vehicles available for one, two, three, or four people, with different models. The price is a bit high at 69 yuan per hour. However, these are not affiliated with the hotel, so if there are any issues or disputes, the hotel will not intervene. The hotel's front desk and housekeeping staff were very professional; they immediately provided room service even when called late at night. Many thanks!

Traveling solo, I chose The Landy Hotel, and it perfectly matched my aesthetic. The overall design features a simple, natural wood style with no excessive decoration. The room layout felt relaxed and comfortable, and the floor-to-ceiling window framed the garden view like a painting. The outdoor garden is meticulously maintained, with plants thoughtfully arranged and winding paths that make for a wonderfully quiet stroll, far from the hustle and bustle. The room was clean and tidy, the amenities felt high-quality, and the staff were very friendly. I felt incredibly peaceful staying here all day – it’s a great place to unwind and recharge alone. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Aranya.

The hotel service was absolutely wonderful! The staff were professional and kind, making the service experience excellent. They patiently answered all questions without any hint of impatience, and even helped us with a late check-out. Issues were resolved very quickly, and we received complimentary welcome fruit. The facilities are very new and don't feel old-fashioned; they're the best among hotels in the same price range. I highly recommend experiencing Wuzhou! The guest rooms are spacious with fantastic views from the panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, and luxury amenities like a Dyson hairdryer and a scenic bathtub are all included. The breakfast selection is rich, and the local Ban Mian noodles taste authentic. Service response is very fast, and the robot delivery is super convenient. The environment is quiet and upscale, offering much better value for money than other hotels in the same price bracket – highly recommended! The ceiling-to-sky heated swimming pool is the biggest highlight! The water is clear and clean, the space is open, and the temperature is just right. It's free for guests, making it incredibly relaxing and great for photos.

An older hotel, but the facilities are still complete and the room was pretty clean. You can't expect too much from an old hotel. It's best to take a Didi (ride-hailing service) from the station; don't just jump into a shared ride, you might get ripped off. It's just outside the city wall, and I personally think staying here is more comfortable than inside the wall. Among the performances, only the iron flower show is worth seeing, but you absolutely need to get there early to secure a good spot, otherwise, you won't be able to watch. The commercial streets are all pretty much the same!

I stayed here with my parents and my dog. The front desk contacted me in advance and added me on WeChat, sending the address beforehand, which was very helpful. A big thank you to Xiao Xu! We arrived on Saturday afternoon and were able to check in a bit early, which was very considerate of them. My dog was treated wonderfully throughout our stay, and the atmosphere was great. The hotel has a large lawn and a gentle slope behind it, filled with flowers. Sitting on the balcony, soaking up the sun, and looking out at the blue sky, green landscape, and flowers really gave us a vacation feel. The location is a bit far from Cable Car No. 4. You need to take a shuttle bus, but dogs aren't allowed on it, so we had to walk. It wasn't too far though, about an 8-minute walk. The entrance to the underground parking garage is quite narrow, but it's spacious once you're inside. Too many people park on the street, making it very crowded. I think if you're staying here, it's best to park underground to make it easier for others to get in and out.

During the past few days in Zhangjiakou, the most unforgettable thing is not the passion of the track, but the emotion brought by the front desk. My family sent a box of sports drinks before I left. I made sure to make sure it was delivered on the day of the game. The result was that I, a road ******, filled in the wrong district address. The courier was sorting from the south of the city to a novice post office in the north of the city. Just after the race ended at 4 p.m., the logistics information showed that ”the post office is already at the post office,” but we had to leave for the next city at 5 p.m, and looked at the postoffice address 10 kilometers away on the map, stamping our feet in a hurry. When she heard this, Ms. Park comforted me by saying, ”Don't worry, I'll find a way,” grabbing the keys to her electric car and running out. She returned 20 minutes later, sweating and panting, saying, ”The sorting officers had the wrong zoning area. I went halfway through the warehouse with them to find it!” She thought she could get it now, but she frowned again and said, ”The box is too big to fit in the electric car basket. I'm afraid it will be broken on the road. I'll run around and pack it in the trunk again!” Before I could react, she turned and rushed down the stairs again - the second time she saw her, she had a sweat scarf on her arm, With her hands tightly wrapped around the trunk, even her work shirt was soaked with sweat, but she smiled and said, ”I just borrowed a shock absorber from the post office, and none of the drinks damaged.” When she tore open the packaging, she also purposely put a note on the trunk: ”Remember to replenish electrolytes after the game!” At that moment, I suddenly felt that although the wind of Zhangjiakou was cool with the grassland, but the box of drinks and the smile of my little sister, the trophy of the race course was more heart-warming. When I met such a service in a strange city, I really wanted to share the warmth with everyone! She not only helped us to get the express, but also let me feel the ”heart for heart” service temperature. Next time I come to Zhangjiakou, I will definitely choose this hotel full of human touch.

My husband and I stayed in a mountain view king room. The room was spacious with a sofa, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered stunning green mountain views. The bedding was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The bathroom was also spacious with a separate wet and dry area. The service was top-notch and heartwarming. We received complimentary round-trip cable car tickets. Breakfast was plentiful. There was ample parking, and it was free upon checkout by scanning a QR code. During the day, we took the cable car up to the 2160 meadow and visited the 'earphone sculpture' on the mountainside. Pine forest hikes and sledding were all nearby. In the evening, there were illuminated cabins, folk music in the square, and craft beer with BBQ. The hotel has its own restaurant where you can order food, and hotel guests get a discount. We highly recommend 'Taiwu Night' for the iron flower fireworks, bonfire, and electronic music – it's just a few minutes' walk away. We enjoyed the mountain views during the day and the lights at night. It's a great place to escape the summer heat.
