My stay at the Xiangshawan Lotus Hotel was absolutely perfect, comfortable and pleasant throughout. The biggest surprise was the hotel's dining, which completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel is located deep in the desert, with its pure white lotus shape making it highly recognizable. The rooms have excellent lighting and views. The all-inclusive policy was a real convenience; the Sand Island and Joyful Sand Island attractions offered unlimited play with a wristband, and the exclusive skip-the-line access for guests saved a lot of waiting time. The evening activities like bonfires and stargazing created a fantastic atmosphere. The staff were warm and attentive, with meticulous and thoughtful services like luggage handling and inter-island shuttle buses, ensuring a hassle-free experience throughout our desert trip. There are also various entertainment facilities at the Blue Lotus Hall, where the 'Yue Lian Hui' (Leaping Lotus Club) allows children to experience the excitement of competition and the joy of winning. I must particularly praise the food: the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets offered a rich and balanced selection of dishes. The authentic Inner Mongolian beef and lamb were tender and free of ***** taste, with hand-pulled lamb and freshly roasted lamb chops tasting truly authentic. For breakfast, the Mongolian milk tea and dairy products had an authentic flavor, and the hotpot for dinner featured fresh and ample ingredients. Chinese and Western hot dishes, desserts, fruits, and beverages were available in unlimited quantities throughout the day. The Shalian Hall also provided self-service snacks and drinks from day to night. Despite being in the dry desert, the food quality was consistently high, with timely replenishment of ingredients and stable flavors. Every meal was satisfying, and we didn't have to worry about finding food elsewhere. The room was very spacious and well-equipped. The air conditioning worked great, and the bedding was clean. It had good natural light overall. Everything was pretty good for a stay, and it was quite affordable. The transportation was convenient; you could easily hail a taxi right outside, and it was very close to the subway station. Dining options at Wanda Plaza were also very handy.

The campsite in the northern part is probably the best one. If you want to experience a yurt, this is the place to do it, the scenery is much more beautiful than the one in Heishantou. You get sunsets, singing performances, bonfires, and a starry sky. Slippers, toiletries, and liquid mosquito repellent are all provided. The shower water is unstable; it's a trickle and fluctuates between hot and cold. Four bottles of water are provided, and you have to pay for any extra. Breakfast is enough to fill you up.

The hotel boasts high-end decor and excellent cleanliness, with a superb location right by the racecourse. It feels grand and impressive. However, my stay wasn't as comfortable as I'd hoped. First, my room was quite a trek from the lobby, easily 50-60 meters away. Second, the pillows were all incredibly high; all four provided were the same, offering no softer alternative, which led to a restless night. Third, the toilet wasn't smart, and the toilet paper holder was awkwardly placed behind it, feeling a bit outdated. Fourth, the staff seemed accustomed to serving VIPs; for regular guests like us, they were rather cold and unresponsive. They'd only answer direct questions, and when I asked about breakfast, they didn't volunteer information about the hours or where it was served, which almost caused me to miss it. Most hotels serve until 10 AM, but here it's 9:30 AM.

Cleanliness: Even though it's an older, established Chinese brand hotel, the cleanliness has always been exceptionally well-maintained. The room was full of thoughtful touches; as soon as I entered, I noticed the turndown service with milk 🥛, which immediately made a great impression. Service: The service was exceptionally gentle and friendly, truly making guests feel at home. When the security staff needed to move my car, they were also very polite and courteous, not making me feel uncomfortable at all. This hotel truly exceeded my expectations. Next time I'm in Hohhot, I'll definitely stay here again!

Sheyi Tea Culture hotel was an amazing stay, definitely a must stay if visiting Hohhot! Food & Drink 🫖 This hotel is also a tea house and it is a tea drinker’s dream! First the room a booked came with my own tea brewing equipment and a tea brewing table with an excellent view and comfortable seats! But that is just the beginning, as you head down to the main floor a fully stocked, beautiful tea house & cafe awaits you. Daily tea and even delicious milk tea is always available. Private table sets and outdoor seating is available too. The tea masters are skilled and attentive, which made all my tea drinking experiences fun and enjoyable! You can also purchase various tea and tea ware right in the tea house. Location 📍 This hotel is perfectly located close to the near by Ancient Street, with many close by temples and shrines to visit. A craft street is close by and available all day, while a famous local food street opens up for colourful night time snacking in the evening. Many close by restaurants offering authentic local cuisine, I recommend reading the hotel’s recommendations as they were always great. If you need even more tea experience, there is a nearby tea wholesale market and many high end tea house in the area as well. The Room 🛌 The room I stayed in had lots of space, was very clean and had everything you could need to feel comfortable. Daily bathroom necessities are provided. High quality bedding, robes and slippers are waiting for you. High end bathroom equipment is installed, with hot water always available. Premium television is set up and Wifi connection always had high speeds. A beautiful kettle and tea set can be used to make tea with daily water and a welcome tea package provided. Staff 👩⚕️ The staff were very king and helpful right from check in. Actually even before check in they were helping bring my luggage inside! They were patient with communication as I was a foreign visitor. They answered any and all questions I had. They recommended great tea and amazing restaurants! The staff were always available and always smiling! Such great people really made my stay a dream. This was probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in and I definitely would recommend it to anyone visiting Hohhot! I will be back again for sure.

Since I was traveling with elderly family members and was concerned about them getting cold at night, I decided against booking a ground-level yurt and instead chose this 'Starry Sky Pasture' accommodation. I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival. First, parking was incredibly convenient, which is crucial for a group of five traveling in a 7-seater minivan. Then, we were greeted by charming Mongolian-style buildings, topped with yurts perfect for stargazing. The rooms were fantastic, and the owner was incredibly kind – he even upgraded our room because we were with seniors. The room was spotless, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and disposable toiletries were provided. The 'starry sky yurt' had air conditioning, so it wasn't cold at all. We could even watch the sunrise and sunset from the third floor, which I thought was great value! The restaurant food was absolutely delicious. We ordered roasted lamb ribs, mushroom with sliced meat, cold beef slices... and even some kumis. Wow, both the taste and price exceeded my expectations – so tasty! Especially the beef and lamb ribs, they were incredibly fragrant and highly recommended! The owner even gave us a small gift when we left, which was a very thoughtful touch. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends because I feel I made the perfect choice! It's very unique, clean, and tidy, in a great location with easy parking, and delicious food! The main thing is, the owner is wonderful!

This was my first time staying in a family room, and as soon as I walked in, I felt the layout was very convenient. The front desk lady checked me in quickly and gave clear directions when I asked how to get around. It was also easy to get a taxi from here or go to the East Station 🙂 The room was comfortable to stay in. The bedding was neatly made, felt very soft to the touch, and both the pillows and duvet were clean and dry. I slept really well at night, and the soundproofing was good too; outside noises barely bothered me at all 😌 The gym was a pleasant surprise. It was clean and bright, and the equipment was sufficient for a daily workout. It was very convenient to go and get some exercise after a long journey, and it didn't feel stuffy in there 🏋️ The breakfast variety was richer than I expected, with both hot and cold options, all tasty. Overall, my stay was very hassle-free, suitable for family trips or an overnight stopover 😊

Nice room, comfortable, excellent bathroom. Breakfast is good, although some food is a bit weird and it is noisy early in the morning there. Has a little shop downstairs which is nice for a snack.
