Family Hotels in Ningxia, China

We had a great time visiting Yinchuan. The hotel is centrally located (5-minutes walk from Ningxia museum) and the interiors were well-maintained and very clean. The staff were extremely helpful and the facilities (particularly the gym) were superb.

The bathroom had state of the art facilities. The room was comfortable and well designed. Having a translucent window worked well for me as the room was quiet. The front office and housekeeping staff were competent and polite. Location is superb. It's on the corner of the Gulou Pedestrian Mall and Xinhua Road. Only the tinu lobby is on the ground floor and the exact entry is not evident. Look for the overhead crossing, the escalators and the Sony shop. There are many places to eat: on the mall, off the mall and all the small lanes.

I chose this hotel for a business trip for a conference. The hotel room is very comfortable and the environment is very good. The hotel staff is warm and thoughtful. Takeaway can be delivered directly to the room, which is very convenient. When checking in, Miss Wang Yingying at the front desk helped to upgrade the room and introduced local snacks and places to play around. If there are any problems, they can be solved in time. The luckiest thing about this trip is that I chose this hotel! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, the staff member Wang Yanxia was warm and considerate. She quickly checked me in and recommended nearby delicacies. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and I had a good night's sleep. The breakfast was rich and varied. The location is also great, and it is convenient for travel. I highly recommend it!

Ningxia was a last-minute decision just a few days before my trip, and what a beautiful city it is! Even after a tiring journey, I chose the Marriott. I only booked it on the day of arrival, but the staff were incredibly welcoming. The surrounding area is bustling with many attractions. I enjoyed afternoon tea in the executive lounge, which offered beautiful views of the Yinchuan cityscape, including a large lake and well-planned, crisscrossing roads, all with immaculately maintained green belts. From my suite, I had a fantastic view of the distant Helan Mountains. Interestingly, the next day, while staying at the foot of the Helan Mountains, I could still spot the Marriott! Overall, my stay was incredibly comfortable. After a day of rest, I felt completely refreshed. Yinchuan left a wonderful impression on me, and I'll definitely be back!

Having stayed at the Sheraton Sanya last summer, I continued my choice of Sheraton for this trip to Yinchuan. The service quality remains consistently excellent, and I had a truly wonderful experience. This visit was during peak season, and unfortunately, we had to switch rooms for our two-night stay. The young lady at the front desk, a member of an ethnic minority group, was incredibly patient, charming, and had a fantastic attitude. Later, customer service directly arranged our luggage transfer when we changed rooms, so we didn't have to handle it ourselves. We simply went out for the day, and upon our return, our luggage was already perfectly placed in our new room. The customer service team was also very quick to respond. Regarding the Executive Benefits: The executive lounge is convenient for grabbing a bite to eat, though its offerings aren't particularly unique. However, the young lady providing service there was exceptionally enthusiastic – big thumbs up! She was practically an ambassador for Ningxia tourism, haha. Also, the twin room was very spacious!

Due to a flight delay, I arrived at the hotel in the early hours of the 27th. The young lady at the front desk was incredibly welcoming, making me feel like I was ”coming home” to an old friend. Perhaps this is the charm of the hotel industry. During the day on the 27th, I also received a warm welcome from the male front desk staff, who recommended local restaurants and introduced me to Yinchuan. Their enthusiasm for the city left a deep impression on me, and I will definitely come back to Yinchuan to further explore this shining pearl at the foot of the Helan Mountains.

The room is small in size and clean and tidy. The parent-child room I booked has a double bed and a single bed, which is especially suitable for a family of three. Toiletries come in large bottles and are of good quality. Breakfast is an absolute plus for this hotel. Cold side dishes, haggis soup, fried buns, and ramen are all great! Not inferior to international five stars. Although the breakfast area is not large, everything is of good quality. Wuzhong is not a big city, so I parked my car in front of the hotel when I was driving, which was very convenient. It takes one hour to go to Yinchuan from Wuzhong, one hour to Shuidonggou, and one and a half hours to Shapotou. I like the Northwest~

Food: Breakfast is semi-buffet, and the staple food needs to be determined one night in advance. Freshly squeezed juice, pastries, fruits, etc. will be available for self-service. Although there are not many breakfast varieties, the taste is very good. The B&B also provides meals, but it needs to be booked one day in advance. The portion is full and the taste is also very good. Service: The butler will add you to WeChat early and answer questions online throughout the whole process. There is also a butler group, which provides a one-to-one saturated service, and most needs can be solved in time. Inform the butler of the arrival time, and the butler will drive the shuttle bus to the door of the winery to receive you. Room: Free upgrade to the starry sky duplex king bed room A, while retaining the viewing balcony, it is also equipped with a loft directly connected to the rooftop terrace, which is a good place for night stargazing. The room has comfortable bedding, and is equipped with a relatively hard buckwheat pillow and a softer latex pillow. The mini bar is free, and the tea room is equipped with local eight-treasure tea bags. Building: It is both a B&B and a winery. There is a large vineyard between the welcoming gate and the accommodation area. It is summer, and the low grape vines are beginning to sprout and bloom. The -1F of the main building is the wine cellar and brewing workshop of the Chateau de Chadolan. You can contact the housekeeper to make an appointment in advance, and the tour is free. Thanks to Master Zhou of the winery, the explanation is very detailed, and many of the explanations are refreshing. I also tasted the original wine directly from the fermentation tank, which is a rare and special experience. I heard that the B&B will open an outdoor swimming pool in summer, which must be good for watching movies. Unfortunately, the schedule is relatively tight and I didn’t have time to visit it properly. Location: At the foot of the Helan Mountains, close to Manpu Town and Zhenbeibao Western Film City, both of which are 15 minutes away by car. There are many wineries around, including Liushi Winery, Walfeng, Xiamu, Turandot and other wineries, all within a 30-minute drive. Go north to the Helan Rock Painting Scenic Area, which takes about 30 minutes.

We stayed at Shenhua Hotel again after our trip to Zhongwei. We booked a triple room, which featured a master bedroom and a smaller second bedroom. The smaller room didn't have AC, but with the recent mild evenings, it wasn't an issue at all. The service here is also top-notch: the buffet breakfast on the second floor was plentiful, offering not just standard fare but also a noodle station and freshly ground coffee. What truly surprised us was the presence of a well-equipped laundry room (as pictured) – it felt like a branded hotel chain such as Huazhu or Home Inn, just without the prominent branding. While parking can be a bit limited, there's usually an attendant to help guide you. You can also request the hotel to reserve a spot beforehand. If all hotel parking is taken, there's street parking just 50 meters away, and the hotel will reimburse the fees. As for its prime location: it's just a hundred meters from Gulou Pedestrian Street, right in the Yuhuangge area. This means you're surrounded by fantastic local eateries (like Lao Mao Shou Zhua, Tongxin Chun, etc.), which we found to be more authentic and reliable than some of the 'internet-famous' spots nearby (though there are plenty of those too!). There's also a vibrant night market at the end of the street, where the Xinjiang kebabs are absolutely delicious, and you can find a great selection of other local Ningxia specialties. All in all, it's incredibly convenient. It will definitely be my first choice when I visit Ningxia again. It's the kind of place where you can save your budget for experiences like the Zhongwei desert, making it a true hidden gem. Oh, and they even provide a complimentary welcome fruit platter!
