5-Star Hotels in Sichuan, China

I recently stayed at a transit hotel in Chengdu and had a very pleasant experience overall. The location is extremely convenient, especially for travelers, as it’s very close to the airport—perfect for short layovers or early flights. One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The meals were surprisingly good for a transit hotel, with a nice variety and satisfying quality. The room itself was very clean and well-maintained, which made it easy to relax after a long journey. I also appreciated the facilities and amenities. The hotel offers a comfortable environment with thoughtful touches, and the bathtub was a great bonus—perfect for unwinding and refreshing before the next leg of travel. Despite being so close to the airport, the hotel was not noisy at all. I was able to rest comfortably without any disturbance, which is something I really value. There is also a VIP check-in service available at the airport, which sounds like a great perk, although I wasn’t entirely sure how to use it. It would be helpful if the hotel could provide clearer instructions for guests on how to take advantage of this feature. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone transiting through Chengdu. It offers convenience, comfort, and quality, making travel much more enjoyable.

The breakfast was absolutely perfect 💯, really making up for the hotel's shortcomings in other areas. It's an older hotel, an established brand, so I guess the Ritz-Carlton Chengdu is a stark reminder to anyone hoping for a budget-friendly luxury stay. Being an older property, the decor and design are definitely dated and outmoded. The fact that the lobby is on the 25th floor already tells you the hotel's overall scale won't offer many surprises. The lobby and bar are on the same floor, which naturally lends a quieter atmosphere. The opulent decor feels out of step with current mainstream styles, creating a rather odd vibe. The room was standard for a five-star, with all the expected amenities. You could still see the signature Ritz royal flair, but the signs of age and the worn-out feel prevented me from truly appreciating the brand's concept. As for the pool and gym… let's just say I won't be commenting on them. The real highlight was breakfast: incredibly rich, professional, enticing, and thoughtfully prepared. All in all, for around 800 RMB a night at the Ritz, this is pretty much what you get. It's unrealistic to expect a 2000 RMB experience at that price point. However, it seems many five-star hotels across Chengdu suffer from similar issues of being old and dated, so I don't blame the hotel itself too much.

The Grand Hyatt Chengdu, located in the bustling heart of Chunxi Road, manages to be a tranquil haven amidst the urban buzz. Its overall design is sophisticated and grand, with wooden elements and lighting perfectly complementing each other. While there are indeed many mirrors, you get used to them after a short stay. Having followed Ji's design and aesthetic from the Mandarin Oriental Guangzhou to the Grand Hyatt Chengdu, I can confidently say his vision remains as impressive as ever. The guest room layout is fluid, with clearly defined and practical divisions for the living room, bedroom, and bathroom. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer a direct view of Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li, providing abundant natural light during the day and a spectacular panoramic view of the city's vibrant nightscape. The soundproofing and blackout curtains are also excellent. Although the hotel has been open for several years and shows slight signs of age, it is well-maintained, and the service is both professional and efficient. (On a side note, the Hyatt promotion in April was an absolute delight!!!) This time, I also experienced the complimentary 'New Wave Travel Photography' service offered by the hotel. The staff was incredibly efficient, and the depth of field and composition of the shots perfectly matched my preferences. The final photos exceeded my expectations, making for an overall superb experience.

The hotel is located deep inside Changping Valley, quite a drive up from Siguniangshan Town. If you don't have your own car, the hotel offers 24-hour shuttle service to and from the visitor center. The biggest advantage is that you can enjoy views of Siguniang Mountain from the hotel that are very similar to those from Cat's Nose Ridge. If the weather is good, you can wait for the 'Golden Mountain at Sunset' phenomenon in the evening. The hotel's design is Wabi-sabi style, and the furniture, appliances, and bedding are all quite good. However, as an old hand in architectural design, I felt that the layout and public areas weren't very well-designed. There's an astronomical telescope in the courtyard, which is great for stargazing.

My stay at the JW Marriott Chengdu was absolutely perfect, and I have to give a special shout-out to Guest Relations Officer Michelle and Manager Andy! Michelle was incredibly attentive and professional throughout. She proactively reached out to understand my needs before check-in, and upon arrival, she swiftly handled the process and provided a detailed introduction to the hotel's facilities and local attractions. During my stay, she was always there to help, whether it was a small request like luggage storage or room amenities, or a bigger one like travel recommendations. Everything was handled efficiently and thoughtfully, and her warm smile made me feel incredibly welcome. Manager Andy is also a testament to excellent management and service. He proactively checked in on my experience and was quick to respond and resolve any issues, demonstrating true professionalism and responsibility. The team he leads is enthusiastic and responsive, from the concierge to housekeeping, truly embodying JW Marriott's high service standards. The hotel's location in the heart of Chunxi Road is super convenient for getting around; the rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed; and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful. I sincerely recommend this hotel to everyone!

The hotel is very good. It is close to Wanda Plaza. It is very convenient for eating and shopping. The lobby is very beautifully decorated. James, the front desk clerk, is enthusiastic and friendly. I give it ten thumbs up. It is very safe. The room is close to the river and has a good view. I was satisfied with my stay and praised it! The only drawback is that the breakfast is a bit weak and the fried things are cold and hard. I hope it can be improved.

Facilities: The hotel facilities are excellent, and the location is fantastic, especially for travelers with early morning flights. Hygiene: Very clean, every corner of the room was spotless. Environment: Nice environment. Service: Great service, the front desk staff was very good. The hotel breakfast is rich and varied, served from 5:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Initially, I was worried about missing breakfast due to an early flight, but this relieved all my concerns. Easy Boarding Service Voucher: Already experienced.

The Wyndham Grand Chengdu East is a must-stay, five-star recommendation! The butler service was incredibly thoughtful. They proactively contacted me before check-in to arrange the room according to my preferences, and during my stay, they were always responsive to my requests. They even sent detailed guides for local attractions and dining spots – the attention to detail was exceptional. The location is absolutely fantastic! It's just a few minutes' walk to the subway station, and close to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li. At night, you can enjoy the beautiful night views of Jiuyan Bridge and the 339 TV Tower right from your window. It's super convenient for exploring and dining. The room was clean and comfortable, and the high-floor view was amazing. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Chengdu!

This is the best hotel in Songpan, perfectly situated right next to the city walls. It boasts an excellent location while also being incredibly quiet. The hotel's interior environment is superb, and the room furnishings are fantastic. The toilet even thoughtfully includes a disposable seat cover, and the complimentary bottled water is the premium Nongfu Spring brand. Breakfast is also very good, especially the beef noodles, which are delicious. It's truly the most worthwhile hotel to stay at in Songpan. Plus, the hotel offers a thoughtful shuttle service, and the lovely concierge upgraded my room!

The hotel is well-maintained overall. The Hansgrohe shower, high-quality toothbrush and razor, and Zhuomaquan bottled water all reflect the hotel's commitment to quality. The double-height, constant-temperature swimming pool also deserves a special mention. Its location right next to the subway station and across from Yulin Road is also quite convenient. This time, I felt the service was even more heartwarming. Although I booked through a third party and couldn't enjoy member benefits, the front desk小姐姐 (a polite way to refer to a young female staff member) proactively upgraded my room and gave me a fruit platter. When I returned in the evening, I found that turn-down service had been provided – my first time experiencing it! Overall, it's a great choice offering both value for money and quality.
