4-Star Hotels in Sao Paulo State, Brazil

I stayed at Wyndham São Paulo Ibirapuera Convention Plaza Hotel twice during my trip (April 3–8 and April 10–11), and overall, this was a very mixed experience. I’m an international traveller so I would say I have my fair share of seeing all sides to a hotel. To be a 4 star hotel and to charge premium rates, I would expect certain things. Let’s start with the positive to the hotel - The location is excellent. From the hotel across there is a shopping mall, which makes it extremely convenient for food, shopping, and daily necessities. • Cleanliness is generally acceptable. Aside from one incident, (on my first night, I found red stain marks which looks like lipstick on my sheets, took a photo and alerted receptionist the next morning for a change of sheets. • Room size is spacious and comfortable. I stayed in the “ superior room” and the junior suite. The issues (and they are significant): 1. Misleading room expectations The room I received looked noticeably older and more worn than the photos online. Doors, bathroom condition, and overall finishing did not match what was advertised. It felt misleading. This hotel definitely need a glow up. 2. Poor service & lack of flexibility Service was the biggest disappointment. • Staff were generally not proactive or solution-oriented. • I made a booking error via Trip.com and tried to adjust the dates. Both the platform and hotel refused to help or offer alternatives. • Even a simple late check-out request (which I informed them about in advance and was willing to pay for) was declined without much effort to accommodate. I wasn’t also asking for hours just a mere 2 hours so that I can go to the city to pick up some stuff before my long haul 32hours flight. 4. Billing inconsistencies – check your charges carefully • I was initially charged for 2 minibar items when I only consumed 1. I manage to catch this on time before paying for it. • Laundry count was incorrect (11 pieces sent, billed for 12). Receipts and explanations were unclear, and I’m still not fully confident everything was billed correctly. 5. Missing basic amenities (unexpected for this level) • No iron or ironing board available • No kettle / hot water in the room • No complimentary drinking water • Everything must be purchased separately 6. Language barrier for international guests Not all staff speak English, which can make communication difficult if you’re not Portuguese-speaking. Overall verdict: This hotel is convenient but not service-oriented. If you are Brazilian or familiar with local expectations, you may find it acceptable. But as an international traveler, the experience falls short—especially in service, transparency, and attention to detail. Would I return? Probably not, unless location is the only priority.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hyatt Place São José do Rio Preto, and the experience was truly outstanding. The hotel's location is unbeatable, situated adjacent to the Iguatemi São José do Rio Preto shopping mall, providing easy access to a variety of shops and dining options. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and equipped with modern amenities. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep. The air conditioning system worked flawlessly, which was essential given the warm climate. Breakfast each morning was a delightful experience, offering a diverse selection of fresh fruits, pastries, and local specialties. The staff were consistently friendly and attentive, making me feel welcomed throughout my stay. The hotel's facilities, including the rooftop swimming pool and fitness center, were well-maintained and provided excellent opportunities for relaxation and exercise. Additionally, the free on-site parking was a convenient perk. One minor drawback was that the parking area could become a bit crowded during peak hours, but this did not significantly impact my overall experience. In conclusion, Hyatt Place São José do Rio Preto offers exceptional comfort, top-notch amenities, and a prime location. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

A wonderful hotel that truly deserves 5 stars. Delicious breakfasts, amazing service, impeccable cleanliness, and a delightful interior design.

The hotel has a great structure...but leaves something to be desired in terms of staff service. Receptionist does not inform where the rooms are at check in. There was no conference at check out. No one accompanies. The service at the restaurant at dinner was terrible from the waiter. The food is not worth the price. The pool was dirty and there were no staff to help. Outsourced parking no one picks up your suitcase when you arrive.

I absolutely LOVED both the stay and the party at Onze. I confess that I was a little apprehensive due to some not-so-nice comments about the accommodations, but everything was perfect. The hotel decor is beautiful, we were very well looked after from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. The receptionists are very nice and attentive. The room is magnificent, very cozy, spacious beds, a large bathroom and a hot shower with strong water to relax. We spent New Year's Eve on the eleventh floor of the hotel itself: wonderful!! My congratulations to all the staff, I will definitely be back and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

There is a pool but I didn't see anyone using it. Because there were trees around, the leaves and branches of the plant floated on the surface of the pool. If you don't have resistance, I recommend the pool.

Hotel is excellent, location is beautiful (near supermarkets, cafes, restaurants, popular A Casa do Porco). In 20-30 minutes walk of the sights (Praça da Sé, Cathedral of Sao Paulo, etc.). Classic gym. Guys on the resepschen are very friendly. Of the shortcomings - there was no fan and the balcony was dirty. Muito obrigada 💚🇧🇷

A reasonably priced hotel in a very central location, easy to reach with public services and Uber. The surrounding area is walkable and full of restaurants and services. The internal restaurant allows you to eat without even leaving the premises. My room provided a real working area. There is a small rooftop swimming pool, enough to relax.

Pretty good hotel in a good location! Rooms are slightly outdated, but large! I wish they had a shower at the pool area for hygiene reasons.

Facilities: The hotel is very large, though a bit dated. The hallways are long, and the gym is not located in the same building. Cleanliness: Acceptable. Environment: Nearby airport and highway. Services: Shuttle bus service to the subway station and shopping malls is available, and taxis are available at the entrance.
