It was really a nice stay, cozy, comfortable and clean. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. Also the breakfast was very good with many options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians ๐คโค๏ธ

The room was clean and well-equipped. However, the front desk service was just average. When I booked through Trip.com, there was supposed to be an upgrade, but the staff member seemed to have overlooked it. After I pointed out the issue, they paused for a moment, then spent a long time looking for the order, only to say that all rooms were full. Yet, Trip.com clearly showed available rooms. It was only after I threatened to contact Trip.com that they reluctantly said they'd make a room available for me, without a hint of apology, just annoyance at having to make the change. This incident left a really bad taste; it was clearly their mistake, but they made it seem like I was trying to get something for free.

The hotel's location is excellent, not far from attractions like the Mogao Grottoes and Crescent Lake, and it's easy to catch a taxi. Despite being in the city center, it's surprisingly quiet. I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant overall style and room decor. The facilities are complete, and the mattress and pillows are exceptionally comfortable โ a good night's sleep is crucial for a Qinghai-Gansu loop trip. The breakfast spread is quite rich, and the dishes taste good. The front desk service is super nice and very thoughtful. Highly recommend staying here.

The hotel is very close to Zhangye West Station, and because we had a lot of luggage, we contacted them for airport/station transfer service, which was very convenient. When checking in, the staff learned that there were three of us and proactively offered a complimentary breakfast and arranged a room upgrade. The hotel's breakfast included freshly pulled beef noodles, 'laozao' (fermented glutinous rice), and more, and it tasted great. The 'Baifu' restaurant across from the hotel was also delicious. Overall, the hotel offers excellent value for money and is highly recommended!!

The hotel's location is excellent, just a few minutes' walk from the night market. Plus, the museum, Leiyin Temple, and Mingsha Mountain Crescent Spring are all conveniently located along the same road as the hotel. The service is incredibly thoughtful; they contact you daily to confirm your breakfast delivery time for the next day, and they even upgraded our room! The newly renovated facilities and hygiene are both top-notch, and the hotel's cat is super charming and affectionate.

The service was excellent, and the room was clean and hygienic. Parking was convenient, and it's very close to Zhongshan Bridge and Zhengning Road Food Street, both within walking distance. The breakfast was rich and very good. I'll definitely stay at Mercure Zhengning Road again next time I visit.

I've given many hotels 5 stars before, but I regret it this time. Five stars simply isn't enough for this hotel! If I could only give it 5 stars, please deduct 1 from all my previous ratings. It offers at least a 4.5-star experience at a budget hotel price. See the pictures for details! I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's management. The cleaning staff's trolleys were incredibly professional, the welcome notes at the bar showed their enthusiasm, and while the gym, restaurant, and laundry room weren't luxurious, they were thoughtfully arranged. You could see their care in every detail. This level of quality is definitely top-notch in second- and third-tier cities nationwide. As for the location, it's in a prime area, a 5-minute walk to Kumarajiva Temple, and all nearby restaurants and entertainment venues are within walking distance. Many recommendations on Xiaoculiang (a Chinese online shopping platform) for a hotel near the wetlands are desolate and barren, incomparable to this one.

This was the second Mercure hotel on our trip, and overall, the facilities were quite good.
**Facilities:** The hotel is well-equipped. The lobby is clean and bright. As expected from an Accor property, the decor style and design elements are largely consistent. What truly stood out was that on each floor's common area, right outside the elevator, there was a row of complimentary bottled water. This is quite rare in other hotels and very convenient for guests to grab. Breakfast is served on the 21st floor, offering a panoramic view and a great sense of openness. On another note, staying on the 14th floor, the water pressure was a bit low, and the shower felt like it didn't have enough flow.
**Hygiene:** The room's cleanliness was generally acceptable, but I found a long hair stuck to a tile in the bathroom. It felt like the cleaning wasn't thorough, which was a bit off-putting. Also, there was a small tear on the bed linen. I'm not sure if it was an oversight, but ideally, it should have been replaced.
**Service:** The hotel's front desk manager took my feedback very seriously. Afterwards, they even proactively called us to inform us that the issues had been rectified. This was truly excellent.

The biggest surprise during this stay was definitely the hotel's gym and laundry room โ they truly elevated convenience to another level! The gym was fully equipped with everything you could need โ treadmills, dumbbells, elliptical machines, etc. โ and the space was clean and bright. Getting in a quick 30-minute workout before heading out each day left me feeling incredibly energized. The laundry room was a real lifesaver! Not only did it have automatic washing machines, but also dryers and even laundry detergent. My clothes came out soft and fresh after drying, meaning I no longer had to travel with a bag full of dirty laundry. On top of that, the room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the front desk service was incredibly attentive. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit! ๐๐๐๐๐

The room was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully designed with smart controls. The staff were warm and attentive, and the heating made the room very comfortable in December. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, and the evening desserts were a lovely surprise.

AAnonymous UserOn baidu map, it says that from Zhangye railway station to the hotel is about 3 km but when actually navigating my way over while carrying a luggage, it was so much further than I'd expect because Zhnagye's road and traffic are quite chaotic. Many traffic lights aren't even in operation and there are quite a few (3 I think) t+junctions that pedestrian have to cross via the underpass. The cars doesn't quite obey the traffic lights, so be careful and cautious.
For the hotel itself, it's definitely one of my favorite overall, out of my 3 hotel stays during my trip. According to the receptionist I was offered a room upgrade, so thank you! There were also lots of free treats evertime I cleared it, so thank you again! Love especially the red dates yogurt, it's definitely a must try (although they were 2-3days after expiry). I even went out to the grocery to get more! Regarding the amenities, the air conditioner works but can't be controlled. Tried setting temp to 5 degree Celsius (lowest settings) and 30 degree celcius (highest setting), both doesn't work. It seems like it is fixed to room temp +/- a few degrees based on the temp outdoor. One of the day I had sunburn and wanted to cool off but due to how the temp was determined, I have no choice but to sweat it out. Other than that, the tap water here had very visible residue that you can tell that it isn't clear, so I really recommend not using it for drinking water boiled or not. Aon my last day, I wanted to try the bathtub but when I turned on the tap, I had a shock. The water that came out was brown, so I cancelled my initial plan of using it for relaxation ๐. There is also a humidifier provided and I am super grateful for that, however the water ran out on the 2nd day and I can't seem to fill it up correctly. The toilet bowl is also a smart toilet bowl, but I didn't realized it after closer inspection while trying to find how to flush. Lastly, I was so looking forward to the stars celling but it's kinda sad that you can't turn it on on its own without having the other lights turned on as well. Which honestly defeats the purpose of having a star gazing celling.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is excellent; right outside, you can catch buses to destinations like Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, the airport, the train station, and Xuanquanzi Scenic Area.
The hotel interior is also quite new, and the bedding is good.
Downsides: The water wasn't hot enough. They required a 30 RMB deposit for each room key card, which is something I haven't seen in years. For such a large hotel, it felt really petty.
The front desk service wasn't bad, but it felt a bit forced and uncomfortable. I don't know why, but they barely smiled, which made me wonder if the management was mistreating them? It just made for an uncomfortable experience.
They offer a station drop-off service, which I initially thought was a nice perk. However, the communication was unclear, and I wasn't sure if the car was even there. When you're traveling in an unfamiliar place and have a train to catch, punctuality is crucial. No one could give me a clear answer. In the end, I had to repeatedly press the front desk in the morning before they could confirm. It left a very bad impression; the entire management seems to have issues.
BBamodaodeyuehanI booked this a month in advance, worried I wouldn't get a room, and the actual experience was fantastic. Booking during the off-season meant the price was very reasonable. The hotel's service deserves more than five stars; everyone, from the front desk to every staff member, made us feel right at home. Although it's an older hotel, the facilities are up-to-date. The free airport pick-up, rich and delicious breakfast, and the humidifier (a must-have in the dry Northwest!) were all great. Plus, there are so many adorable cats on the first floor!

UU.weixiaoThe room was very clean, the service was friendly, and the front desk lady upgraded the family room for free, which was very nice. The breakfast was also very good, and the hotel was in a good location. It was very cheap to take a taxi. It was very close to Shazhou Night Market and Crescent Moon Lake, and it only cost 5 yuan to get to the night market. After comparing it with 4-star hotels, I feel that this hotel is very cost-effective. Recommended ๐๐๐๐๐

WWinnielamlamComing to Zhangye during the off-season, I was really happy I chose this hotel. Not only is it incredible value for money, but the staff's service was exceptional. They went above and beyond to fulfill any requests I had, making my stay completely hassle-free. The breakfast buffet was incredibly rich and varied, perfectly to my taste. On the night I checked in, it happened to be the Winter Solstice, and the hotel thoughtfully provided dumplings. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Zhangye!
DDunhuanglvyoutuijianA perfect stay experience beyond expectations! Definitely worth recommending!
This trip to Dunhuang chose the Zen Twin Room of Hexi Corridor Hotel, which completely exceeded my expectations! The hotel is equipped with fruits and Dunhuang apricot peel water. From check-in to check-out, every detail makes people feel thoughtful.
Environmental facilities: The hotel decoration is very Silk Road style, the lobby is magnificent, the room is spacious and bright, the bedding is comfortable and clean, and the beautiful night view of the Danghe style line can be seen outside the window. It is very beautiful. Overlooking the Dunhuang Mingsha Mountain from a distance, it is simply a resting place tailored for travel!
Service attitude: The front desk lady is warm and thoughtful, the room aunt cleans meticulously, and the room is brand new after returning from the scenic spot.
Geographical location: It is only a few hundred meters away from Dunhuang Bookstore and more than 5 kilometers away from Mingsha Mountain and other attractions. There is a supermarket downstairs. It is very convenient to take a taxi or drive by car, which saves a lot of time.
Special experience: The local specialties for breakfast are super rich, and I also went to see the performance of Ledong Dunhuang in the evening!
I will definitely choose here next time I come to Dunhuang!
GGuest UserThe hotel was spotless , quiet and provided all the latest amenities. There was great choice for breakfast and the staff were very attentive, even bringing local dishes over to us to try and ensuring we had everything we needed. The hotel reception staff were also extremely friendly and helpful always ready to assist with a smile. A big thank you to Wang Ying who helped to hail a taxi and explain where we wanted to go.

FFoodadventureJust completed a wonderful three night stay at the Zhangye Holiday Inn. Perhaps most Silk Road tourists do not spend three nights in Zhangye but we wanted to visit both the popular and more โoff the beaten pathโ historical sites nearby. This Holiday Inn is up to international standards - the staff was very professional, courteous and well trained, the rooms were modern and well-maintained, and even the buffet breakfast restaurant manager spoke English. This is probably one of the few (if not the only) more Westernized hotels in Zhangye) and we had a very good stay and experience in this hotel in Zhangye.
