For our return journey from Italy we booked 2 nights at the Residence Inn. The serviced apartments hotel, together with its sister hotel AC Hotel by Marriott, is located in a brand new building in the booming European Quarter in Strasbourg. The Pradus underground car park is available for both houses, which gives hotel guests a discount of 5 euros per day (exchange tickets at reception) and also has an elevator to the hotel level, which is barrier-free. We chose the Residence Inn because it had a very reasonable deal including breakfast and a 20% discount at the gourmet restaurant L'Archipel. The entire house with both brands is brand new and the rooms are up to date with the latest hotel amenities. In addition to the location, the quality of the Marriott beds and the good AC hotel breakfast, which always includes an IBERICO S*****en from the slicer, were other reasons for choosing the hotel. We were able to easily go on excursions to the Alsatian wine villages by car. The European Quarter, including a visit to Parliament, can be explored on foot. Attention: For Strasbourg and Colmar, German cars have also required the Critair environmental sticker since the beginning of 2023. It can be easily ordered online and costs a processing fee of 5 euros - a violation will be significantly more expensive. For a tour into the city center, where parking is difficult and expensive, we recommend the modern tram, which takes 10 minutes from the hotel to the center. We slept very quietly and well at the Residence Inn - the soundproofing of the windows is optimal. The good breakfast takes place in buffet form for both houses on the 9th floor. The staff is young and very helpful - special requests for breakfast were even served the following day without being asked. The only point of criticism: The air conditioning in the room blows specifically on your neck and back when you sit at the desk - but it is possible to switch it off. Conclusion: A modern mid-range hotel in the European Quarter that is equally suitable for business and leisure guests. You can choose between serviced apartments or the 4-star rooms of the AC Hotel.

The added benefit of a Nespresso machine also went down well with the caffeine addict parents. The bathroom was huge with a great shower. There were plenty of towels provided and the hotel toiletries were of decent quality. There were only small niggles within a great overall stay. Namely a lack of seating and supplies at breakfast on both mornings and also our room wasn't cleaned even though we had requested it and we had been out for 6 hours. Overall would recommend and stay again.

The bathroom was modern, with a good shower and nice that the toilet was located separately. We ate breakfast at the hotel and also enjoyed a drink at the bar in the evening. Breakfast was busy but had a great selection of buffet options which pleased all the different tastes of our family. The hotel is about a 10 minute easy walk from where the central restaurants and old houses are located. We liked this as meant it was slightly quieter than being right in the middle. Colmar itself was certainly very beautiful, though I confess we didn’t love it quite as much as we thought we would as it was heaving with tourists and we also found it very challenging to find a restaurant with space that offered vegetarian options for our son. If we were to return we would certainly book ahead for food - we knew it would be busy of course being a weekend in the summer holidays, but have never been anywhere in France (including many summer weekends) where we struggled to get a table - lesson learned! But great hotel, and would certainly recommend the hotel to other travellers.

I was lost when the name was different, but the reservation was made properly. There is a description in the review that there is a bathtub, but it was not in the room I stayed in, so if you want, you should request the hotel. The washbasin was clean or renewed, and the shower room and toilet were unusually separate. But I was worried about it because there was a mysterious dirt on the wall of the shower room.

Lovely place to stay- away from the touristy are of the Petite France, yet only a fifteen minute walk there. Quite a few nice restaurants in the area with mainly locals who go there - not your usual tourist traps.The hotel is small, with a slightly oldfshioned air about it - none of your hyper-modern dark corridors and minimalist design. Friendly, smiling service. It feels a bit like coming home. There’s also a smlall spa and if you let them know in time they’ll switch the sauna on for you. Twenty minutes is all it takes. Breakfast is varied, with your usual bacon and scrambled eggs, then hard boiled eggs, small selection of cheeses and cold cuts, fruit, seeds, muesli, juices, breads and pancakes.

I was told that breakfast was not included despite booking a plan with breakfast. The electrical equipment in the room is broken, and no matter how many times it is turned off, the electricity in the room automatically turns on after a certain time, so it is woken up by the lighting of the electricity every hour in the middle of the night, and I can't sleep well. The next day I was working from the morning, but I was hard with a headache due to lack of sleep. I don't recommend it.

We booked a room for two people, there was a set of towels for one person in the room. There was also no hairdryer. After calling the reception and 7 hours later nothing had changed, I had to go to the reception in person late in the evening. In all other respects there are no questions.

For the rest, the staff is very welcoming, available (need for an additional pillow, request filled immediately. The breakfast was certainly a bit tight for a 4-star hotel, but the quality is correct. The bedding is of very good quality, but the bathroom would deserve a bit of a refresh and a shower instead of a bath would be great.The vis à vis the building next door is a shame.
