The room is antique and has a sense of history. It has been renovated, retaining the retro feel while the equipment is very good. The cleaning staff cleaned quickly and carefully, and cleaned up after breakfast. The breakfast was OK. The environment was very comfortable, and they upgraded us to a room with a good view for free. Although this was a business trip, it was still very convenient, and the beautiful scenery healed us. The front desk staff was very polite and helped us call a taxi so everything went smoothly. There is also a restaurant downstairs, but it was a pity that I didn't try it this time. Very satisfied

If there is an option to give 6 stars I would definitely do for this hotel, it has exceeded my expectations on all levels, the hotel inside is a piece of art, everywhere is beautifuly decorated and very well designed, with a mix of modernity and elegance. The rooms are so comfy, tidy and clean, the material used is of high quality and the staffs go far and beyond to make sure we're very well welcome and all our needs are met. The location is amazing, close to the main attractions and to the train/metro station, I particularly loved the soundproofing as it's really something that I missed in other hotels especially very popular 5 stars ones. I would highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Rome. PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO GET THE KEY OF YOUR HAPPINESS BY BOOKING THIS HOTEL!!

The location is very close to the train station, and the room this time was good. The bathroom was quite clean, no strange smells, just a bit small. The front desk staff was also nice, and the lobby was clean.

Hotel lobby and room were very clean. Breakfast was good with varieties, but still wish to have more choices in food. Room was well maintained, very comfortable, and modernized. Our group of friends did enjoy the complimentary cocktail drink and the lounge area for a small gathering. Hotel is very convienient to main streets and safe.

Excellent Location with lots of shops around. Roma Termini is just around the corner. Buses in front of the Hotel. All the attractions are 20/30 min walking distance. Vatican was bearby too. Breakfast had good choices with fresh fruits and Fresh Real Honey. Staff was helpful. All over it was a good choice with reasonable price. Will recommend to friends and family.

The hotel’s location is excellent—only a 7-minute walk from the train station, and most of Rome’s must-see sights are within about 20 minutes. If you want to stay in the center of everything, this place is a great choice. However, the service was a nightmare. The elevator is almost a joke: maximum 2 people, extremely slow (luckily my room was on the 2nd floor). Maybe it’s cultural differences, but the staff here were the rudest I’ve ever experienced. My flight from Nice to Rome was canceled, which meant I lost a night at the Hive. I called to ask for help canceling that night—it wasn’t my fault for not showing up—but both Trip.com and the hotel staff were completely unhelpful. Very disappointing and frustrating. My room was close to construction, non-stop noise over the night. Bottom line: the location is great, but don’t expect any favors or kindness from the hotel. When you’re already stressed, their cold and unfriendly attitude will only make things worse.

This is a great hotel that has many amenities which include a large breakfast buffet option, a large gymnasium. and a bar on the main level with a pool table. The shower never ran low on hot water nor pressure and a Lavazz Espresso machine was inside the room with a large TV, safe box, a mini refrigerator,a wardrobe closet, and an excellent blow dryer which delivered uninterrupted high heat. The staff were kind and upon requests were helpful to include arranging for a private driver to the airport for a competitive cash price. I look forward to returning again in the future.

The receptionist Anthea was very informative and helpful. Nice area, close to the metro and the Vatican. Amazing breakfast spread. Huge variety of food both sweet and savoury. And a nice view from the terrace. The rooms are spacious, especially the bathroom. The temperature is regulated from the reception (open 24/24) and you can just call and have it fixed to your liking. Bonus: there are slippers in the room.

ИИлья КотикTLTR: This is not a 4 star hotel. The location is great, but literally everything else is a compromise… Let me start with 2 advantages of this hotel, since it won’t take long. The first is location. You literally take the north exit from Roma Termini to Via Marsala, cross two streets and take a right - and you are there! It’s that simple :) The other advantage is breakfast: it’s the same everyday, but it’s decent, much better than I expected. And now to the disadvantages… First and foremost: there was black mold in the bathroom! Lots of it. Why “lots”? Because the acceptable amount of mold in the bathroom for a 4 start hotel is zero. Second, the bed didn’t have a headboard. Do you know the acceptable number of headboards for a 4 start hotel? You guessed it: at least one :) The bed was actually two beds crammed together (which I don’t mind), but there was no duvet cover! Seriously: there was a sheet to sleep on, a separate sheet to cover yourself, a warm blanket and a sheet to put over it! Needless to say that during the night the sheet that was between the body and the blanket would be carried away. And yeah, all this 3-in-1 construction was tucked under the mattress like the future of Italy depends on it! What the actual ****?! Do you sleep like that at home? I bet you don’t; so, why would you sleep like that in a 4 star hotel?! Thirdly, there were no slippers, no microwave, no ******* table to eat from, no teakettle, no iron, no shower curtain, nothing! What we got was two paper cups in the bathroom and that’s it. 4 star hotel class service, right? It gets better! If we wanted hot water, we had to go downstairs from the 4th floor to get it from a broken *** mid-sized boiler located right next to the reception desk! Dear guests of this 4 star hotel, please don’t mind my wife getting some hot water for her noodles while you check in and pay tourist tax, it’s fine. When in Rome, you know… Fourthly, the quality of everything in the room was not great… to say the least. The walls were dirty, the hair dryer was really bad, the bottom of the bathroom door was broken. What the ****, guys?! Have you heard of amortization of assets or something? Not cool, not cool. I pay the tax, you fix the ******* door, ok? Lastly, my favorite… there was such a big gap under the front door of the room that everything that was happening on the hotel floor sounded like it was happening in our corridor. I don’t mind people walking past our door, but it really felt like there constantly was a stranger in our room. Couldn’t sleep well because of that. And let me tell you that there was some loud love-making somewhere on the floor… and I felt like a couple was ******* in our corridor! 4 star hotel experience? Not by a bit… All right, let me tell you why I put such a stress on this “4 star hotel” thing. The problem is that in Italy stars in a hotel don’t mean anything! I mean, they mean that the building has a certain amount of facilities, space, etc., but there is no correlation with the quality of staying in a room. Seriously, we stayed in a 3 star hotel in Venice and the room there was much better! To sum it up, this hotel is nice if you need a quick stay next to the railway station… but if you plan to spend more than two days in it… just pick something else if your budget allows. If not: well, you still got the location and the breakfast :) P.S. Cheers to the Asian and the African girls at the reception desk! You are the best :)

DdisasterEXEHotel Caravel is a few blocks away from Stazione Garbatella. The staff speak Spanish, English, and Italian (probably other languages as well). I had the pleasure to stay at Caravel for seven days with my father and they were very accommodating to his needs (such as keeping his laptop safe and providing him with an electric kettle for a night time cup of tea). They also have electric plug adaptors, and they offer third party laundry services. The hotel has accessible ramps, and the venue has a clothes store, bar, breakfast bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet is very varied with some food items made in-house. I hope I get to stay with them next time I visit Rome. My favorite breakfast (which I had almost every day) is seen in this picture.

PPhillipsBenjaminWe stayed here for four nights in June of 2025. The location of the hotel is generally good for getting to some of the more noteworthy site (Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, etc.). There's a metro station around 8 minutes walk away, which opens up most of the rest of the city pretty well. We walked from here to the Vatican, which took around 35 minutes, but would be less than half that by cab. The surrounding area is great for clothing shops, but the food we found nearby was mostly so-so, and frequently over-priced tourist fare, though I'm sure if you walk a little farther from the hotel you can find some good options. The room itself was booked for a family of four, and was comfortable. The bathroom and shower had good water pressure, and the AC worked just fine. Some of the sheets were not quite clean, but we just didn't use the one we found slightly dirty. The beds were comfortable and a good size. The room and hotel have little to no facilities, so you're really just paying for room and the location. The exterior entrance is not well marked, and we actually walked past it on the street several times. If you're thinking of booking here, I'd recommend just looking for the GAP store which is directly across the street, much easier to find. Our interactions with the hotel staff were limited. We received a number of automated messages, some of which were contradictory, or had out of date information. After booking and paying for the room (a non-refundable booking) we were told there was an extra ”city tax” not included which would need to be paid before checking in which amounted to around an extra $90 or so, and the offered price of an airport transfer service went up as soon as we requested it (from 85 euros to 95). The hotel arranged the transfer service for us, but the driver left the airport before we could get out of the passport control due to another booking. The driver service showed up at the hotel at the time the flight was supposed to arrive, even though the flight was late, and you'd expect them to know that going through passport control takes easily an hour, so this seems to be quite poor planning on behalf of either the hotel or the service. We ended up taking a taxi from the airport which was also slightly over half the price of the transfer service, so I'd recommend skipping their service, it seems like a rip-off. Taxis from the airport to the city center seem to be subsidized by the government, and were a fixed price of 55 euros (for a normal size car big enough for 4 people) at the time we visited. The train from the airport is also not a bad idea if you're comfortable using the metro, as the train station is just 3-4 metro stops from the nearest metro station to the hotel (Spagna). Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but felt like we mostly paid for the location.

GGuest UserAn Unforgettable Stay with Exceptional Service at Starhotels Hello, I’m a traveler from Korea who recently stayed at Starhotels during a family trip to Italy. Our 4-day stay in Rome was so wonderful that I felt compelled to write this heartfelt review as soon as I returned home. This trip was our very first family vacation to Europe — with my mother and my son — and we spent the first three days in Rome at Starhotels. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations: the excellent location, the spotless rooms, and most of all, the warm and thoughtful service from the staff made our stay incredibly comfortable. We were so satisfied that we decided to return to Starhotels for our final night in Italy. However, due to a mistake on my part, I accidentally booked the wrong date. After completing a long 11-day journey through southern Italy, we returned to Rome exhausted — only to realize the booking was incorrect when we arrived at the hotel. It was a stressful and overwhelming moment… until Mr. Tofael M., the manager, kindly stepped in to help us. Before even fully understanding the issue, Mr. Tofael looked us — especially my son — in the eyes and simply said, “Don’t worry.I’ll find a solution for you.” Those few words brought such relief and comfort. In a foreign country, such a mistake can feel paralyzing, but his calm and genuine reassurance made a huge difference. Even more touching was how Mr. Tofael and Ms. Paola S. at the front desk went out of their way to find a solution for us. Since the booking was made through an external site (not directly through the hotel), it was a complicated issue. Nevertheless, Mr. Tofael personally made multiple calls and followed up diligently until he was able to resolve the matter. Thanks to his efforts, we were able to spend our last night in Italy exactly where we wanted — back at Starhotels, feeling safe and cared for. As someone who has worked for years in global hotel chains in Korea and is still in the hospitality industry, I can honestly say that their professionalism and dedication truly stood out. They are a model of what true hoteliers should be — and they absolutely deserve recognition and praise. Without hesitation, I will choose this hotel again when I return to Rome. I also plan to recommend Starhotels, along with the outstanding service of Mr. Tofael and Ms. Paola, to as many people as possible through blogs, travel communities, and any platform I can. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

AAnonymous UserTraveling to Rome, I unexpectedly booked this Ibis, which is exceptionally good value. It is less than a kilometer walk from the subway. The hotel is next to a quiet community on a high ground. It is very quiet, and people are running in the early morning. The transportation is convenient, and the nearby bus and light rail are good to go everywhere. The key is that the breakfast is particularly rich. There is a Chinese restaurant opened by Wenzhou people next to the subway station. Occasionally, you can adjust your stomach. It is not expensive and quite authentic. I went out to play in Pompeii for a day, and the luggage was stored in the hotel. The service was also very good. It will still be my first choice next time I come.

MM16229****The location is excellent, right across from the train station, and there's an Old Chengdu Sichuan restaurant nearby. Overall, it's good. However, the hotel charged €105 for taxes, when it should have been €90. They claimed the extra €15 was a tip we agreed to, which I found completely incomprehensible. Although it was eventually refunded, the experience left a bad taste.

CClifford Onwah ChiI stayed from April 12, 2025 to April 25, 2025. They have a 24 hour reception desk which is nice and I think some or maybe all at front desk spoke English and Italian. They only have 1 or 2 vending machines in the back lobby area to get snacks in the middle of the night, but I did not use it because I got their breakfast every morning (7am to 10am). Their breakfast room which was near the front lobby was okay but not great (great being a Las Vegas buffet). They had cold cut meat slices like salami, chicken I think, ham. They also had cheese slices and bread slices though some seemed hard and need to be heated again. They had hard boiled eggs, lettuce, amd tomato slices. They had donuts and pastries some with fruit jelly and some with vanilla or hazelnut or chocolate. They had some fruit juices like pineapple juice and fruit juice. The hotel room I stayed at was a single room with a thin bed and a desk and a window. It has A/C. The shower was small and hard to stretch out to wash but was clean. They had a housekeeper come and clean the room, but I usually told them I didn't need it and they they left after knocking. The bed sheets were white and clean. The fridge was small. There was no safe to store things and no microwave to heat food. Overall, it is a good and clean hotel. The staff in the hotel and breakfast dining area all seemed helpful and friendly to me. The nice thing about the hotel was being very close to the train station just like less than a two minute walk to train station. There are also some convenience stores to buy some food and drinks. There is also several restaurants nearby to the hotel and a laundromat. I wish they had: 1) Coin-operated laundry machines inside. 2) More vending machine for snacks or sandwiches. 3) An ATM machine perhaps to withdraw anytime.
