Although this is a beautiful hotel, quaint and nice rooms, that is where it stops. Whilst travelling around Europe on business for a few months, I spent 2 nights at this hotel. Yes, check in staff are warm and welcoming, and the rooms are nice and quaint… however, for both days I was there, bitterly cold showers with no hot water in the morning. And, after changing rooms. Checking out I complained, and the check out clerk just wanted to take my money. No discount, or compensation. And, he said, I will let the General Manager know tomorrow. Frankly, very poor indeed. Yes, hot water problems do happen - but not twice over 2 days, and then getting rubbish customer service. Why would I ever stay at this hotel again! Probably won’t unless it is my only option… lets see if the Hotel sees this review and makes it up!!!

A 3* hotel that exceeded my expectations. Well placed next to the SMN railway station, and literally next to the SMN bus station for Siena and other Tuscan town. The hotel is also not that far from the Florence historic centre. There is also a supermarket very close by. I stayed in a single room, no 315, for 2 nights. Although a single it was not very small, as so often in Italy. The bed was also not too narrow for a large person like me, and was comfortable. Bathroom was large, with a bathtub. Towels were soft and fluffy, of good quality. Cleanliness was very good, and maintained so throughout my stay. The wardrobe was large enough, and the safe & minibar were useful. Overall, the hotel is not a new one, with rather old furniture that shows its age, but I like old-fashioned hotels so it was fine for me. Breakfast was very good, and the service at breakfast was excellent, which is so rare nowadays, even in high star hotels, kudos to the tall Italian guy running the breakfast room from the bar. Also of great help was the young lady from the reception, always helping efficiently, kindly, with a smile. Walls are paper-thin, you can hear everything from the adjoining rooms. It was not warm enough in my room, the AC showed it was working towards 22 degrees, but in fact in was not, and temperature stayed at 19 degrees, which was uncomfortable for me. TV was very small.

A fabulous hotel, from the excellent staff to the wonderful facilities and the location. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Particularly Roberto, Ariana and Simone. The spa is excellent, and although we only used the pool, it was a must after walking in the Florence heat in August! The hotel is a small distance from the old city, but we’d recommend the “members club”, which costs €10 per day per adult (over age 12). The mini trolley only takes 15 minutes-ish into town, and is a great way to get a feel for the city. Pick ups can be arranged at reception. Breakfast was good, and we had one of the adjoining apartments for a family of four. All the rooms and facilities are modern and clean, even if the shower is a bit quirky! Overall we would highly recommend Hotel Grifone. There is a sister hotel to the west of the old town where you are welcome to rest, use WiFi etc etc. Highly recommended.

This hotel was brilliant. My friend and I came to celebrate her 44th and can I say the hotel is NOT full of students as some reviews have said, there all a huge range of demographics and nationalities. The hotel itself is so cute and well decorated. Very kitsch. The staff were SUPERB! I feel bad that I can’t remember their names but I do remember Francesca from reception. What a girl! She helped us get dinner reservations, what bars to go to and had a wicked humour! From the pool bar - Candi. So chatty and sweet! Breakfast was brilliant. Not sure what some people are complaining about? You’re not going to get a 100000 calorie American breakfast. This is Europe. We had scrabbled eggs on toast each morning. There are sausages and bacon if you want. The. We had some fruit and yogurt, followed by a pain au chocolate or a croissant and jam. I usually had a bread and cheese as well! More than enough to get you going. Lavazza coffee too. We went to go out in our first Friday and as we came down there was a DJ and a free bar with popcorn, pretzels, and crisps as the hotel is very inclusive and community focused. The hotel is also very environmentally aware so to read reviews about people moaning that their towels and bedding weren’t changed- please! Nobody and I mean nobody fainted their towels and sheets every day in our own houses. It’s once or twice a week. The damage to the environment and the increased costs to hotel rooms are as a direct result of people like YOU. My only little niggle was that there was a fabulous Nespresso machine but the coffee was not filled daily, however a quick call to reception and we had some brought to the room. We didn’t use the pool due to some bad weather and plans in the day but we sat up there having a drink and people had clearly been swimming so I don’t think that’s an issue either. The view from the pool bar is UNREAL. I literally mean it’s spectacular. They have games such as table tennis and fusball and swings in the entrance which my friend and I had a go on after a tipsy evening. I’m won’t talk about how amazing Florence is as a city as that’s a whole other review. But this hotel is fantastic as long as you’re fun and are open to a new experience

If you are coming to Florence (Firenze) via the train, staying at the Hotel Mercure Firenze Centro is a good choice as it is located just about a block away. It maybe a bit tricky to locate it the sign is not very apparent and is somewhat small. It is more visible from across the street. There is also a side entrance .When we were there in July 2022, they had a mandatory appointment time to reserve for the continental breakfast each morning starting at 7a.m. to avoid overcrowding and social distancing. Hotel Mercure Firenze Centro is a very convenient 10 minute walk to the Duomo. The service was very efficient at check in and they were very more than welcome to store our luggage as check in time wasn't until after 4p.m. The rooms are very huge and daily room service was good.

The hotel was very clean and we had no issues with anything. The shower and bathroom facilities were great. Breakfast was also good with plenty of variety. It is just by the station, which was handy and the center and main attractions are within walking distance too. There are some dodgy looking people around the station but that is out of the hotel's hands.

On the plus side, it is close to the train station (10 minute walk), it's a relative modern hotel with staffed reception area, great breakfast, two elevators, room was basic but comfortable, large bathroom. My main complaint was that the A/C was NOT working, when I complained, I was told hotel was full, so I couldn't change room. Their solution was to send up a fan. Luckyly we went in early May so weather was still cool, our room was over looking the inside patio, we had to sleep with the window open, so we didn't have a noise issue. But a/c not working is unacceptable! Major attraction were within walking distance (15-20) minutes, we are in mid 60's so took a rest halfway. We always sat at the Piazza di Santa Maria Novella which is a beautiful plaza! We has a couple of meals at the local pizzeria/Osteria MASO, a 2 minute walk, reasonable prices, good food, great service. Average price for 4 night stay, including IVA tax, but not the mandatory city tax was $ 180 a night, including breakfast.

this hotel was great, comfy beds… rooms cleaned everyday, beautiful view from our room and all the facilities actually worked (tv/ bathroom/hairdryer/wifi) Allessio and Marisa are a great asset to the hotel the friendliest people ever 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 if only they worked at the reception aswell they would make customers feel greatly welcomed with there big smiles and awesome service.

This is a lovely, clean hotel with good facilities and location and an excellent breakfast. It has a very traditional decor, with a modern bathroom. Our room was pleasant enough but the window faced a wall and had huge shutters which we couldn't open. Hence, there was hardly any natural light in the room. I also found the staff a bit unfriendly, especially at the reception desk. There was no greeting if you walked past, and they did seem slightly condescending - not the usual friendliness you would expect on a reception desk. The staff at breakfast were much nicer. I liked this hotel, but a little friendliness and a smile go a long way and would have enhanced our stay.

We arrived at the hotel pretty late as we were travelling from Rome. Gabriele was pretty prompt and sent us all the necessary information ahead of our arrival as the reception service was until 3pm on Sunday. The room was surprisingly nice and clean, and indeed exceeded our expectation. Even though for just a night I thought this was a pretty good one. Nearby hotel has a nice pasta restaurant Al Peposo, just need to walk about 10 mins. Day time you can just walk towards town areas, you won’t get bored with the surroundings.

A very nice hotel totally renovate, the rooms are well cleaned and the breakfast has a lot of choice. The staff are very kind and they speak many languages. The director Jean and the general manager Maroun were very helpful and they made sure that we have a memorable experience in Florence. Highly recommend!

My husband and I spent four nights at Certosa di Maggiano and it was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The grounds were stunning, the room was beautiful and the food was amazing. The pool was pristine and we spent a lot of our time there because of the weather, and it never appeared crowded or loud. The real stars of the show were the staff. They were all so friendly and accommodating, and after being there for a couple of nights, we got to really know them. If you can get a reservation for the Limonaia pizza night, DO IT. It was our favorite experience of the week, and maybe of our entire Italy trip, and are so happy they could fit us in. I would honestly take any negative review of this place with a grain of salt, because I have no complaints and don't see how you could. We were even looking at when we could book there again before we even left. 10/10 experience.

We stayed in room 23 – this one had a separate sitting area, and was lovely – large and spacious. It was very clean and the bed linens were nice. There’s a small fridge and safe in the room. The TV in the sitting area could be a bit bigger, and the wifi needs an upgrade, but otherwise, it was very comfortable. Bathroom was nice and well-equipped, although the lighting could be brighter. Breakfast was very good: eggs, cold cuts, cheese, selection of cereal, toast, jams, pancakes (some days), croissants and other baked goods, juice, and of course coffee. We also had dinner here 4 out of 5 nights – very good, but pricey. It was nice to not have to drive somewhere else for dinner. The staff are amazing here – very professional and helpful. The pool area was lovely – lots of chairs and umbrellas available, and the pool itself was clean. Even though the days were warm, the water was too cold for swimming in October 😊 The whole complex is beautiful and we could see ourselves staying here for a couple of months, wandering through vineyards and olive groves! If you have a chance to go, attend the vineyard tour and wine-tasting (it was done very well – low-key and about 1 hour, which was perfect). La Sovana is also well situated to visit many of the other notable towns in Tuscany and Umbria: Siena, Assisi, Orvieto, Montepulciano, etc. Overall, we loved this place and would go back for sure.

The hotel is a great place to stay with. Receptionist named Neomi was very nice, kind and listening. The hotels surrounding garden and parking is great as well. (without the above I would give a rating of terrible) Breakfast is medium minus - we have expected far and beyond from a Sheraton/Marriot property.... The only one thing that really upset us was an incident where my laptop wireless mouse and keyboard were missing one AA battery. I went down to reception at 7:15am and asked for help - the best idea the team there had to provide is to go outside the hotel and find a shop. I've asked them to be a bit more creative - and they agreed to ask their maintenance department. When I can back at 8:00 the answer was still negative - maintenance department has no batteries. Given such a big place with so many electrical devices to handle - I was quite shocked and asked to share this incident with the duty manager upon my checkout - she is busy I was told. I left my mobile number and asked her to call me once she is free....I'm waiting for her call up until now... Conclusion - if duty manager provides such guest experience, why the other team members will not behave the same?!

Nice big room. They gave me a balcony room. Front desk staff was a little over the top and asked me a lot of personal questions. I had a friend come by for breakfast and they called an asked if he was staying. I was sleeping and he left hours ago so I thought it was weird. I also declined maid service one day and then someone had come into my room and left towels in the bed so that kinda creeped me out. They didn’t leave enough toilet paper. And why leave it on the bed and not make the bed? $5 euros for a big towel to use which is kinda chintzy to charge your guests for a towel when you’re a spa hotel. Pool was very nice and heated to about 90 degrees so like a warm bath. The pool area was noisy though so it ruined the atmosphere. They should install speaker system with relaxing music to help guests relax more. I didn’t use the spa area as there was no jacuzzi only steam room and sauna. Breakfast was pretty good. Blood orange juice which I loved and the coffee was delicious. Wait staff was friendly and fast serving for the coffee: thanks for my waiter for his cheerful attitude and smile during my stay.

My wife and I spent three nights here on our honeymoon trip to Italy. The villa is very nice, well-kept, clean and not too far from Siena and other small towns in Tuscany. Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom especially was well-appointed. We truly enjoyed sitting in the lounge having aperitif and cocktails each night, and one night had a yummy dinner in the on-site restaurant. What I really want to highlight is the hotel's staff. In particular, Elena, who checked us in and was at the front desk our first two days, was absolutely wonderful. From showing us a map and marking parking and sites in Siena, to calling cabs for us (about 15 euro to Siena) but she truly went above and beyond finding a few activities for us to do on one of our days there. She researched and booked a private horseback ride which was great but what was OUTSTANDING was the private cheese tasting she arranged for us at Podere S. Anna Organic Caseificio Company based in Radi. The breakfast was very nice, and bacon and scrambled eggs are included with no extra charge if you ask for them. The rest of the staff was also excellent, we saw the same people each day and they all made us feel at home at Villa Scacciapensieri.

Great location just outside the main entrance to San Quirico. Spotless clean with very professional personnel who truly works very hard to please guests. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms small but clean. We moved from an upstairs room to one with a small garden—which was much more enjoyable. As we stayed 8 nights having access to a private garden made a huge difference—note however that you will not be guaranteed a room with a garden! The upstairs room had a strange couch that was uncomfortable—basically just for show. We travelled with a small dog and were charged 20 euros a night extra for cleaning but we did not mind though it seems on the high side. The staff truly made an effort to make us and our small dog feel welcome. A bowl and a bed were provided. Breakfast was wonderful but we had to walk through town as it is only served at the main of the hotel. If it rains, it is a bit of an inconvenience but the hotel does lend guests an umbrella. Hotel parking is a nightmare and I cannot recommend it unless you have a tiny car. Free public parking is convenient and we never had an issue finding a spot.

The attitude is very enthusiastic and the facilities are four-star standard. It's a bit far from the city center. The key is the meal, which is great. The baked snacks for breakfast are unforgettable. They are not oily or sweet, but they are particularly fragrant. For dinner, I ordered a roast pork knee with plum sauce (a small amount, only half a pork knee, not a large portion like Germany), and I even licked the plate. I ordered a pumpkin leek soup for my mother. She has a bad appetite and feels comfortable after eating it.

We were lucky to spend three nights at the Hotel Athena on our recent visit to Siena. Our room was comfortably large, nicely furnished, with a very comfortable bed with nice linens. The outdoor terrace and bar opened every evening at 5 (this is contingent on good weather, which we were fortunate to have); it's a lovely place to have a drink and enjoy the lovely view of the countryside and the sunset. Breakfast was included in our rate; the selection of breakfast items was good, with freshly baked pastries, scrambled eggs, a variety of meats, cheeses, and fruits, plus cereal and yoghurt. Guests were expected to make their own coffee from the espresso/coffee machine. The staff was helpful throughout; the receptionists were gracious, the bartender very professional. The historic center of Siena is a fairly easy 15-minute walk from the hotel (prepare for some hills along the way). The nearest restaurants are about 8-10 minutes away by foot; we didn't try the hotel dining room except for breakfast. We'll certainly consider the Hotel Athena again when next we're in Siena; it's convenient to the center of town, and really nicely appointed.

Il secondo anno che vengo in questo splendido hotel dotato di SPA, un hotel davvero molto completo in quanto ha una piscina al coperto di tipo termale ed una all’aperto dotata di ombrelloni e lettini gratuiti per gli ospiti. A completare i servizi la sera musica dal vivo sul prato all’inglese nel giardino è una colazione continentale davvero completa sia di dolce che di salato.

My primary interest was to stay close to Val d'Orca having seen such beautiful pictures of the place. However, when I bumped into Relias Villa Grazianella during my stay search in Tuscany, the pictures of the accommodation were too perfect to resist even though the location looked a bit further out from Pienza. Having visited, I am absolutely glad I made this decision LOCATION : This place looks like something out of a movie - secluded, with the feel of being so closely connected to nature, the view of shimmering lights of Montepulciano some distance away on a hill, completely surrounded by Olive trees and Vineyards. It is simply magical and makes you want to come back again and again. During the Tuscany visit I got to see a lot of farm stays, BnB etc but the size, scale, location and ambience of this place is incomparable by any other. The Villa sits in the middle of acres of agriculture land owned by a large corporate. The ambience is perfect to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful nature and landscape. Montepulciano is not too far from this location. VILLA : A perfect blend of traditional Italian with the modern comfort. The rooms are very large with windows opening to some extremely beautiful views and sounds of birds chirping. The restaurant decor and setup is cozy and inviting. The property's landscape is just too heavenly and beautiful. FOOD : The best food throughout our Italian trip. Fresh ingredients and excellent preparations for breakfast, what one expects from an accommodation in Tuscany. Excellent variety and portions. The true Italian smells and tastes one was looking for. STAFF : Good friendly staff, makes you feel at home. Especially the lady serving us breakfast in the morning (unfortunately forgot to ask her name) treated us like we were guests in her own home. This place is truly heaven on earth and worth booking without a thought. I wish we could have stayed longer, but will be definitely back again.

The first moment we saw the hotel, that it looked quit new. Also it, is we figured out. We missed a lot a warm feeling and warm atmosphere. The staff was friendly but beside everything felt really cold and quiet. No music, no nice little talks etc. The room was fine, except the pillows, duvet and mattress. Pillows were really hard, mattress was really hard and the duvet was just a blanket and a thin plaid. For in October that’s pretty cold during the night, but for summer is will be enough is guess. I guess the hotel is fine just for one night, if you just need one night. Or maybe a good place for business people. They had loads of space for meetings etc. If you are looking for a warm place when you are traveling with family or as couples, I’m not recommend this place. I wont come back by myself to this place, cos i prefer a warm and lovely place. The breakfast was fine and enough choice.

Perfect location - 25 minutes walk from the train station - walk out the front of the hotel turn right & you see the Tower in seconds. Rooms clean / tidy & traditional but perfectly adequate for a 2 night stay in Pisa. Breakfast was buffet style & had everything from cereals, croissants, yogurts to bacon & eggs - all good. The rooftop bar is the star though - it has a perfect view of the tower. Costs are reasonable as well being the same as what you would pay at street level.

I booked one day to just sleep over at this place, but really loved its service and the facilities. Breakfast was tasty and had multiple options. The only minus is the location, which is around 25 minutes' walk to the city center and 40 minutes to the railway station.

I booked this hotel after seeing another reviewer say that they stayed here as a solo female traveller and found it clean and safe. I would echo this reviewer's comments. I stayed here for five nights, and used Pisa as a base to travel to other places (namely Lucca, Firenze, and Siena) so wanted somewhere within a reasonable walking distance of the train station as I envisioned returning to the hotel when it was dark. I took the 'Pisa mover' shuttle from the airport to Pisa Centrale station (which cost €5 and took around 5 minutes), and then the walk to Hotel Bologna with my suitcase was in pretty much a straight line through the main square and down paved and well lit streets. It took around 7 minutes to walk from the station to the hotel. I arrived at Hotel Bologna at around 10:00 and was able to leave my suitcase in a secure room (no charge) whilst I spent the day exploring Pisa. I came back around 18:00, collected my case, and formally checked in (although I could have checked in at 13:30) before heading out for dinner. Staff were mainly young and male, and were pleasant and spoke very good English. I was allocated room 16 which was on the first floor and overlooked the small car park and a patio area. There was no external noise apart from the odd aeroplane which cannot be helped anywhere in Pisa, although I imagine that (1) people might use the patio for drinks in better/warmer weather which would bother me if they were rowdy; and (2) people in the rooms which overlook the road at the front of the hotel (Via Giuseppe Mazzini) might experience a bit of traffic noise. The internal walls seemed quite thin and I suspect that the bathroom of the adjoining room was located right next to my bed as it was noisier than expected when they were having a shower and talking in the bathroom. However, luckily, the people next door weren't particularly noisy and showered at a reasonable time, so it didn't bother me per se. I stayed in a single room (single bed with en-suite) which was definitely big enough for just myself/did not feel cramped. The room was decorated in a more 'traditional Tuscan style' (think greens, reds, and golds) so not particularly 'instagram worthy' but neither am I. The room and bathroom felt and were kept very clean by housekeeping, as were the bedding and towels. The bathroom contained a toilet, shower cubicle with sliding doors, bidet, sink with large mirror, tissue dispenser, sanitary bag dispenser, toilet brush, bin with lid, and hairdryer. You receive complimentary shampoo, body wash, intimate wash, vegetable based soap bar, shower cap, and shoe sponge. In the bedroom there is another bin and a desk and chair with large mirror. Underneath the desk is a mini fridge containing a range of drinks and snacks, which I removed and instead used the fridge to store my own food and drink which I purchased from a Carrefour Express minimart which was a circa 5 minute walk away near the main shopping street. We traveled to hotel end of June / beg July. We arrived late so restaurant just closing. We then had a very poor dining experience at a local bar and vowed not to return there. We had very helpful hotel reception staff from Fabrizio and Serena who helped us so much during our visit. We would like to commend some very special staff in the hotel: Laura, Beatrice, Gabriel Senior / Gabriel Junior and Flavia who made our stay brilliant with their happy faces and helpfulness at Breakfast and Dinner (when we dined there.) Special thanks to our room lady who helped sort our room daily and who went beyond her job and sorted out our balcony lounger. Pool was wonderful - beach was great / sandy - took some travelling out to get to swim. Had a lovely few nights with pianist in bar where Savioure was a brilliant master of the bar - listening to all stories and could make a great Martini. Take care to make sure you click on / off any buses using credit cards and also dont forget to validate your train tickets as can be a pricey fine. We had a great holiday. Thanks to all xx PS Taxi arrangements (airport transfer) through hotel are very unreliable though so although prices quoted at hotel are not valid and paid extra on arrival and hotel bookings unreliable as our return home, the taxi never arrived despite checking with hotel x2 prior to departure so required another company to get us to airport.

We stayed in Pisa for one night. The communication with the hotel was excellent even though I reserved the room just a few minutes before arriving. The staff was wonderful, both at the front desk and at the breakfast buffet. Based on the Staff's recommendation we found also a great restaurant nearby. The breakfast was very nice, good quality local products, the check-in and out process was fast, and the room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for two nights before heading to cinque Terre. I'd give 4 stars to the staff, breakfast and location for station and walking to the tower. Staff all very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was super and plentiful. And location was perfect for late arrival from Pisa airport....right next to Pisa centrale. I'd give about 2 stars for the room and general condition of the hotel. Although the rooms were clean and comfortable it was let down with poor decoration and overdue refurb. Holes in walls, need of redecorating and fefit. We had an adjoining room and could hear everything on the other side...even zipping up their case...poor. NH need to do a walk around and see the problems here. Paid £135 per night. Don't think I got my money's worth. No fault of the staff they can only work with what they've got. Come on NH.

I never thought I would be staying at a beautiful palazzo though I have looked up at some from the street on my many visits to Italy. The Palazzo Feroci has been restored as you would expect of a historic listed building and with no expense spared. Our suite is on the first floor and consists of two rooms, our bedroom over-looks a small square on one side and a narrow street on the other. Even so the suite was very quiet and had large new heritage double glazing windows which kept any street sound out, cars not being allowed in the old center of Piza. The suite has coffee and tea and cookies and bottled water and wine and chips for us to eat and drink and a fridge! The hotel toiletries are very upmarket and the best I have seen in a hotel to date. There is a very chic modern cafe with great food that is part of the hotel and breakfast is included with the price of the room. The dining areas comprise of small courtyards which are very inviting, pretty and quiet and again beautifully restored. Myself and my husband agree that Palazzo Feroci ranks up there with the Four Seasons at Cap Ferrat as the two best accommodations that we have stayed at in the past few years. I very highly recommend staying at Palazzo Feroci when you are in Piza, we are very glad we did.

One of the most positive notes of this hotel is certainly represented by the staff who are very kind and professional in the reception. The furniture is elegant, the room in which we stayed was quite wide, the bed and the comfortable couchs. The room was blind but the air conditioning was well functioning. The hotel offers guests a variety of swimming pools, including a very large pool, to which outside people can also access. In general, it was quite comfortable, although sleep was a little disturbed by a little too intense smells, present in the room and some night clacson (but it was feragost). The style of the outdoor bar where breakfast is made does not reflect the style of the hotel.
