Hotel Nikko Huis Ten Bosch

Private entrance to Huis Ten Bosch takes you almost directly to the flower fields. They provide free loaner umbrellas which was handy as it rained one day during our stay. Breakfast was decent with a variety of western and Japanese foods. It is nice that breakfast is offered for quite a while so you have flexibility when eating. They were very helpful with storing luggage early and picking it up late so we could spend our time enjoying Huis Ten Bosch without worrying. My husband had a guitar and they personally held it in a protected location as they also have automated luggae storage. Facilities were clean and maintained although not new. Front desk spoke flawless English. Overall a pleasant stay.

The location is a bit off the beaten path, making it ideal for self-driving tourists. Due to its proximity to nature, you might occasionally encounter a few insects in the rooms, but the hotel is generally clean and well-maintained. It boasts a wide array of recreational facilities, along with services such as restaurants, hot springs, and massages. The pricing is reasonable, offering good value for money, so you can easily spend a full and enjoyable vacation without leaving the hotel. I highly recommend it for families looking for a relaxing getaway!

The hotel location is good for sightseeing, close to some attractions and public transport access.  The room is quite spacious for Japanese standard. Interior of the hotel is very beautiful. Would like to comeback again whenever I visit Nagoya.

The room was a bit small, similar to a Toyoko Inn. The rooftop hot spring was quite good, but the best part was the wide variety of ice cream. The noodles at night were also delicious and you could eat as many bowls as you wanted. Five-star rating!

The hotel is moderately located, behind the middle of the hot spring street is a large hot spring mouth, the hotel staff service attitude is serious, the hotel is not very big, but there is a hot spring outside, dinner is very characteristic, but overall the price is a little more expensive, outside the whole hot spring street business is more deserted

Great value for money! We took the highway bus from Hakata to Nagasaki, which took 2 and a half hours. After getting off, it was just across the main road and over a pedestrian bridge to reach the hotel. The hotel's location is super convenient for public transport, and it's especially easy to get to the JR station for meals. The room itself is quite spacious, the shower pressure is excellent, and it's quiet for sleeping.

The hotel is situated on a mountain, making it a bit difficult to access. While a shuttle service is provided, it's quite infrequent. I chose the breakfast and dinner buffet package; the food was mediocre and certainly not made with premium ingredients. The hotel's interior feels dated and could use an update. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and offered excellent service. For the men's communal bath, you have to take an elevator to the 2nd floor and then descend two flights of stairs, which isn't very convenient for elderly guests. Furthermore, the main public bath uses regular tap water, not natural hot spring water. I booked a city view room, and the Nagasaki cityscape was absolutely breathtaking. A heads-up: the shuttle bus carries the name of a sister hotel, so be mindful of that. The pick-up location is West Exit W2.

The building itself seems a little old, but the bus stop is nearby, the service is polite, and the rooms are clean. It's right next to Glover Garden, so it's a good place to go in the morning to take photos before the tourists arrive!

A pretty good hotel overall, but the hot spring management was a bit chaotic. There were a few ********* kids splashing around in the hot spring, which really ruined the experience. Other than that, the hotel was excellent, especially the value for money of the buffet, particularly dinner.

This ryokan left mixed feelings. We decided to walk from the bus stop to the ryokan, and that was a mistake. Along the way, we passed dilapidated and abandoned ryokans, one of which still had a wreath from a funeral. What we saw was truly terrifying. At the ryokan itself, we were greeted warmly. They took our suitcases and took us to our room. They treated us to cold matcha and canelé. I was shocked and very upset by my room. It felt like it hadn't been renovated since the ryokan opened. The walls were very dirty, there were cobwebs on the lamp, and the bathroom mirrors were all dirty. The only thing we enjoyed was the beautiful view from the window. We weren't able to try the onsen, as people with tattoos are not allowed. At 7 PM, they laid us out on a tatami mat. The pillow had bones and wasn't very comfortable. In the morning, we went to the restaurant for breakfast. They served classic Japanese dishes. Everything was delicious and beautiful. After check-out there was a transfer to the bus stop.
