This hotel definitely deserves a 5-star rating; it pretty much met all my expectations for this vacation. Make sure to book a sea-facing room! The rooms are quite spacious, and they offer futon-laying service. When you open the window, you're directly overlooking the sea. Be aware that some room types might have the parking lot obstructing the view, so it's not a completely unobstructed oceanfront view. The best part of the hotel is undoubtedly the hot springs, which span three or four levels. The lowest level is open-air, allowing you to experience soaking in the water while gazing out at the Pacific Ocean in the morning. The hot springs were absolutely the highlight of our trip, incredibly comfortable and relaxing, so much so that we spontaneously extended our stay by an extra night. The dinner included with the room booking was just okay, but breakfast was decent. There are several restaurants within a 10-minute walk, so you don't necessarily need to book dinner with your room. The facilities are comprehensive, including billiards, KTV, and a bar.
The location is relatively biased, it is very convenient to drive in and out and there is a parking lot for self-driving tours. The room is also wide and open, and the bathroom is also big! The room has a nostalgic atmosphere, although it is still ok for some days. The most heartwarming thing is that there is a large massage chair in the room to relieve fatigue and there is a hot spring bathtub on the terrace of the room to enjoy the very privacy hot spring bath and the hotel also has a hot spring bath for guests to enjoy! The hotel waiter is very good 👍 so feel at home 😄
Facilities: Typical Marriott standard. I specifically booked a Japanese-Western style room to experience it, and indeed, the combination was a bit 'unusual'. The good thing is the tatami area can be used to store a lot of items!
Cleanliness: Tidy and clean.
Environment: Although many people complain about the 'hill' issue, since we took taxis up and down, I didn't feel the need to complain much. Walking up and down the slope without luggage can indeed be a bit tiring, but I just took it as exercise (I can understand other reviewers' complaints).
Service: Very good! We arrived at Shirahama Station around 8 PM, and there were no buses, so we had to wait for a taxi. It was raining and snowing, and no taxi came for a long time, leaving us shivering from the cold… I called the hotel to ask if they could pick us up, and the lady at the front desk quickly arranged for a colleague to pick us up from the station! I'm very grateful for their 'help in time of need'! (No charge) Also, the front desk reception, breakfast guidance, and greetings were all very warm and friendly 👍
A good stay overall!
The location is not easy to find. It takes a long time to find it. It may be close to the sea. It is too quiet and dark at night. I am a little afraid. If there are boys, it is okay. If there are girls, it is not recommended.
Very cool. Unrivaled ocean view room. The carpet is a bit wet but just pass on slippers. Does not affect the experience. Super cost-effective at just over 300. Breakfast is a bento box. You need to pay extra for the buffet. There is only one restaurant five minutes away. There is a Lawson convenience store 15 minutes away. A taxi from Tanabe or Shirahama costs about 2,000 yen
Very heart-warming 𥄫 service, station pick-up, you may not find it yourself. Next to the lighthouse. Packing dinner and breakfast, very good. Stayed must be unforgettable
Staff are not familiar with English, but they are very attentive to provide assistance and services.
