The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the room size is suitable for three guests. The overall atmosphere is very pleasant, with a welcoming ambiance throughout the property. The staff are friendly, professional, and highly attentive. The rooftop pool offers a wonderful setting with a great view, and the food is excellent—particularly the dinner served at the rooftop restaurant. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for money considering the quality of service and facilities.

The room looked clean and big, but it smelled very bad, and the air conditioner was very powerful! The buffet at our own expense was really great, and the price was not expensive. The food was better than in China!

Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Heritance Kandalama is more than just a hotel; it's an experience that celebrates the harmony between luxury and nature.

Room is spacious, have all amenities and toiletries (just missing the slippers). It have heater instead of air conditioner as there is mostly cold here. Centralized control system is a plus. Washroom is comparatively much smaller and just the basic size. Cons: The main thing was the management which was poor and mostly looked after only locals as we came to know by our driver. At check in the room key didn't worked 3 time and they have to call some technical guy to resolve the issue which was actually the issue in room door, still they gave us the same room. When we go to food court for breakfast in morning, it was only 4 set items only which also they decide they want to give or not. For every request it was a no even when we are willing to pay extra for the same. For the meal we had we asked extra sambhar they deny they can't give. We asked for sandwich or any breads which was also unavailable. But after sometime, they give sandwich to some other persons. When we confronted them, they told it is in different meal, we asked to give only sandwich they outright denied, when we said give meal they say come after 11. After complaining and telling at the reception his response was mostly defending and at last only told you can discuss with senior manager. It was our time to leave the city as per our itinerary so we left the place as it is.

The staff was very friendly. We were already greeted with a small tea and the service was very accommodating. The most impressive was the swimming pool on the roof, from which you could overlook the mountains and the valley! The bar had very high quality delicious food and also cocktails. Very nice location, very good cleanliness and an extensive breakfast buffet. We regret not having booked for longer.

The scenery nearby is indeed beautiful, with a bit of a British flair. The facilities are a bit old, but they're reasonably well-maintained, within acceptable limits. The breakfast buffet is half Indian-themed. There's also another hotel and an Indian restaurant next door; personally, I can't get used to the taste, but the atmosphere and environment are nice.

This was the cheapest hotel I booked in Sri Lanka, yet it offered the best value for money. Despite being an older hotel, it was very well-maintained, hygiene-wise. While some furniture showed its age, it actually added a charming, vintage character to the place. **Ambiance:** The ambiance is lovely. The hotel's decor and materials feel substantial, featuring a lot of solid wood. The restaurant, pool, and rooms are arranged to create a three-sided scenic view, with beautifully designed, staggered architecture complemented by attractive lighting. **Service:** The service was very thoughtful and welcoming. Check-in was swift. A friendly staff member escorted us to our room, explaining things along the way and even demonstrating the functions of various areas inside the room. Our luggage was delivered shortly after. All staff members greeted us warmly whenever we encountered them.

Beautiful hotel with a view of Lion Rock. If you don’t like the smell of wood, it is recommended to live in an ordinary small flat-floor house. It is recommended to live on the second floor, which is quieter and free of mosquitoes.

It feels like the owner's mansion. The public space is oversized. There is a living room on each floor. The wall is estimated to be portraits and photos on the ancestors. The room is also large, the garden is a bit small, and the breakfast buffet is not many but exquisite.

The old five-star hotel is located on the Mahaweli River, the mother river of Sri Lanka. It is a must-have hotel for Kandy people to get married. The British service standard is very good.
