Except for the airport and Tanjung Aru, the location is excellent; you can walk to the night market and other markets. What stood out most was the amazing ocean view from the room and the clean swimming pool. I especially appreciated the washing machine and drying rack, which were very convenient, and the hot water pressure was excellent. I didn't see a single bug! If I ever go back to Kota Kinabalu, I'd definitely stay here again. đ
What to bring: Maybe an extra towel or two?

The hotel is clean and hygienic. It's a one-bedroom apartment with a washing machine. It's very convenient for getting around, being close to the pier, so you can sleep in a bit. I was always the last one to be picked up for tours. It also has a balcony.

I recently stayed at the Promenade Hotel Kota Kinabalu, and it turned out to be a very pleasant experience. The location is excellentâright in the city center, making it easy to walk to nearby restaurants, shopping malls, and the waterfront. Itâs convenient whether youâre here for business or sightseeing.
The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The bed was cozy, the air-conditioning worked well, and the Wi-Fi was stable. I also appreciated the small touches like the coffee/tea facilities and a good-sized work desk. If youâre lucky to get a sea-view room, waking up to the South China Sea is definitely a bonus.
The hotel facilities are also great. The breakfast selection was good with plenty of choices, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The check-in process was smooth, and I felt well taken care of.
Overall, I had a very good stay at Promenade Hotel. It has great value for its location, comfort, and service. I would gladly choose this hotel again the next time I visit Kota Kinabalu.

Had a pleasant stay for a short business trip. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Amenities were complete, especially the gym which was convenient and clean. Location is also strategic with easy access to nearby restaurants and conveniences. Overall, a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Would definitely consider staying here again for future work trips.

The room was quite spacious and the environment was pleasant; it wasn't noisy at night either. Although the hotel front desk didn't offer full Chinese service, the staff knew a few Chinese phrases, so communication wasn't an issue. There's a convenience store and restaurants nearby, plus a BaWangChaJi. Across the street diagonally, there's also a large shopping mall with Chinese drink brands and Haidilao. Overall, I think the location is pretty good.
The room was spacious and the air conditioning was comfortably cold, which I really appreciated. However, the carpet was dirty and there were noticeable cigarette marks on it, which affected the overall cleanliness. The shower pressure was just okay, not very strong. With some improvements in cleanliness and maintenance, the stay could be much better.

Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is probably the best place to stay in the entire city, not just for the rooms, but for everything else as well. The hotel is modern, very clean, and the service attitude from every single staff member is outstanding, from check-in to housekeeping to restaurant and bar teams.
The pool and views on the 23rd floor are amazing, and the gym, while slightly small, has a really nice mountain view. Breakfast offers a great variety, and Ă la carte options are included at no extra cost, which is a big plus. The bar is excellent, especially during happy hour with buy-one-get-one-free deals on selected drinks. Honestly, the hotel was so comfortable that we barely wanted to leave, even just for a walk outside.
Special thanks to Natalie at check-in, who was incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming. She even upgraded us from a city-view room to a mountain-view room, which made the stay even more special. At the bar, Alvin was tirelessly explaining the menu and drinks to us, and Yus always greeted us with a warm smile and provided great service, they truly made the experience memorable.
If I ever come back to Kota Kinabalu, this would 100% be my place to stay again.
This icon hotel of sandakan is getting a bit tired.like the town itself.eventhought they staffs are trying their best.it need a big makeover.Still my favorite in sandakan for it is full of history.
The host very responsive, give complete details. The check-in and check-out very easy and fast. The unit also was very good, clean, full with amenities. Will come back again for sure cause it is very close with airport.

Our small family decided to have a staycation in few hotel/resort and by far Sutera has won our heart. This place is amazing and i suggest anybody who wants to experience this place to stay more than 1Night. The room is still in its Vintage style , tv only has those old channel , there's one bathtub in the room which we loved specially my son,for the breakfast i do believe they can add more choices as they are more korean dishes focused, it'll be nice to have local kuih (hinompuka/pais pisang) other than kuih pisang only.. But other than that, you actually get free 1hour of bike rental on ur stay which we only know when we ask around, it was located right in front of the kids pool , other than that they do have a small train going around from Magellan to Pacific sutera and its FOC!!! I loved the staff energy the entire time, he asked our son to be in his seat as a driver and even let my son press few button and act like he's driving the train!! god bless your fun soul sir!! keep up the good work!! we will definitely be back again soonđĽ°âŁď¸

GGuest UserThis is my second time in this hotel.
I would say the room is nice and huge. The bathroom big and not many hotel still have bathtub. This makes it a surplus for this hotel as attraction when compared to other hotel.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel views are absolutely stunning. The room was a bit old-fashioned but very comfortable. Breakfast was decent, especially with the local food options, though there wasn't much variety in the fruit selection, and it didn't change much day to day. I was disappointed to see some fellow Chinese guests at breakfast wasting food, piling their plates high only to take a couple of bites and leave. That's quite uncivilized.
XXiaolanmaosarahThe hotel was really just so-so, but its location is great. It's only a 10-minute walk to the pier for boat excursions, and there are supermarkets and restaurants all around. However, I really have to complain about the hotel's service. We were two adults and one child, and we brought our own toiletries. We just wanted to ask for one more bath towel, but the hotel refused... Honestly, it's the first time I've encountered such a stingy hotel. I wasn't trying to take it home; it's just that two towels aren't enough for three people to shower. That's easy to understand, right? Seriously, it's speechless...
QQunqunbuaoyeleI was looking for a getaway from the city, so I chose this Shangri-La in the suburbs. I initially thought a hotel opened in 2015 might show its age, but to my surprise, the facilities were much better maintained than I expected. The room was very clean. The views were impeccable, though it was a bit of a shame that it turned cloudy every afternoon during my stay, so I missed the sunset. As soon as I entered the lobby, I felt the strong Christmas atmosphere. The Ocean Wing has its own dedicated check-in and breakfast area. Room service was just okay. The breakfast selection wasn't vast, but the food tasted good. The service was excellent; every staff member I encountered greeted us. For both check-in and check-out, we were assisted by FU, who was incredibly patient and answered all our questions.

GGuest UserI have to say this is one of the best hotels that I have ever visited. The hotel room is dustless, very clean. The location is very strategic, less than 5 minutes walk to go to Todak waterfront to enjoy seafood, or another 5 minutes walk in opposite direction to go to Suria mall for shopping. The staff here are friendly and dedicated in their services. After checking in, the staff gave me a call to ask me whether I am happy with the condition of the room. The breakfast is awesome, many varieties and very tasty. I am a demanding person, but this hotel does not disappoint me. It should be a role model for other hotels to follow.

Ffiona_zhang222The hotel's location is great, and the sea view room offers a fantastic view. The room is spacious and very comfortable, and it's easy to get a taxi. The hotel's infinity pool is also beautiful, and you can watch the sunset directly from the rooftop, which is very convenient and stunning! Highly recommended! The only downside is that check-in isn't until after 3 PM, so if you arrive on an early flight, you'll have to wait in the lobby or take a taxi to explore Sabah University for a bit.

NNNMYWe stayed at the seafront pool villa. Location was excellent in front of the beach, with sunset view. The morning was peaceful. We absolutely loved the private pool quite spacious, they also have children pools. Self-check in was easy & convenient. Otherwise, cleanliness is acceptable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at BBV, spacious villa with private pool.
CcmoalkSerene place. Nearby beach, pretty sunset.
There are still construction going on. Room is great, spacious, comfy bed, hot shower. The only downer is, very bad phone reception and zero wifi. Shame they have nice huge smart tv but cannot use.
Service wise, very bad. There's an obvious double standard on local vs foreigner. Local are left to figure out where their room is - it's a sizeable resort, u will get exhausted if u have a lot of luggage, no map given too. When asked for direction, the receptionist just said âbelakang sanaâ, while white tourist get escorted to their front door..
And since phone connection is bad, u have to walk all the way to reception to ask for help..wifi not working, fridge not working, fan at verandah not working...pretty bad experince we're glad it's only a night stay.
