I was a bit disappointed. I was expecting this to be a 5 star place, but there were a lot of things that were definitely not 5 stars. The robes were grey and didn't cover bigger people. One of them had pilling all over it, I didn't want to even wear it. The bathroom door squeaked loudly, so if one person got up to the toilet in the middle of the night, it woke the other person up. There were instructions on how to use the spa bath, but not on how to put the plug in. It didn't just plug in normally. We weren't able to use it on our first night which was very frustrating as it was one of our main attractions. I rang housekeeping the next day. Someone came and had a look and said that you had to turn a know on the side of the spa, how would anyone know that? The lock on the door to outside was broken and a small slide lock had been put on. Why not fix the main lock? I used the toilets to the side of the library and when I washed my hands, the tap was all loose and wobbled round. All these things are little but show that the lodge needs to have things fixed or updated. For $300 per night, you expect the best. The worse thing was on our last morning, we got to breakfast about 8:45, the restaurant closes at 9:30 am. There was continental and scrambled eggs and bacon. At about 9:00 am they stopped bringing out anymore bread to toast. No more croissants, eggs or bacon were brought out. There were about 6 tables with guests and everyone kept going up and checking, but they didn't refill. People were saying, they must have run out of food! But for some reason the waiter kept lifting the lids to the egg and bacon to see what was in there, but of course there was nothing as he hadn't refilled it and he was the only waiter!! I was really disappointed and wouldn't recommend it, unless you are getting a really good discount.

We stayed for 3 nights. Location is wonderful. 3 min walk to Regent Street where we ate our meals for 3 days straight. New modern vibe. However, during the 3 nights, every night there is few min of power outage, blackout in the room. Wat are the chances? I ask the counter but they hv no explanation.

Four of us were traveling, so we booked a suite at this hotel. Let me start by saying that apart from the hotel being new and having good facilities, everything else was pretty mediocre. Facilities: The frying pan provided in the suite couldn't be used with the induction hob, which meant we couldn't heat our food initially. We called the front desk for help, but even they didn't know how to use it and suggested we search YouTube for instructions on how to use an induction hob (our reaction: ???). The front desk also didn't know how to use the in-room phone to contact reception (our reaction: ??? again!). The hotel management team really needs to re-train their staff to ensure every employee is familiar with how to use the hotel's facilities, rather than repeatedly insisting in subsequent communications that there's nothing wrong with the facilities. Hygienics: Pretty average. There were three beds in the room, and the sheets and duvet covers on two of them weren't clean – they had floating lint. Also, the bath towels had very obvious blue pen stains. Service: We contacted the hotel via email the night the issues occurred, and Trip.com also helped us get in touch with the hotel to resolve them. The problems were eventually fixed, but the overall experience remained poor. The hotel's attitude made us feel like we were bringing up existing issues just to get compensation... Finally, there are many better hotels in Christchurch than this one. While it's new, the hotel's service team is a bit lacking. Don't let yourself ruin your trip here.

This hotel is about an 8-minute walk from the Intercity bus terminal. Its convenient location puts major tourist attractions, supermarkets, and restaurants all within walking distance. What I appreciated most was how kid-friendly it is. It started with them gifting my children bird plushies (worth about $15) at the souvenir shop, and there's also a kids' play area. This was a lifesaver when the kids got tired of sightseeing and perfect for burning off energy before bedtime. Regarding amenities, they lean heavily towards sustainability, so if you want to be extra comfortable, it's probably best to bring your own. They provide a hairdryer, iron, towels, shampoo, and coffee/tea, but no water, toothbrushes, bathrobes, or slippers (which might be standard for hotels in New Zealand). Tissues are provided but not replenished when used up. The central heating didn't seem to work very well, which was a shame, but we managed with the extra blankets they provided.

I stayed here the night before my flight. It's the closest hotel to the airport, less than a minute's walk away. They have a great selection of free drinks and snacks. Plus, the self check-in and check-out are super convenient. Highly recommend! 👍

This is a truly characterful hotel with spotless and tidy rooms, a wonderfully rich breakfast, and exceptionally polite and attentive staff. A beautiful villa resort, very spacious and comfortable with stunning views from the balcony. There are also lovely hiking trails nearby. The only odd thing was that the duvet didn't have a cover. Lunch and dinner were excellent – not expensive but very high-quality. The service was great, and the room even had a washer and dryer.

This was my second stay here. During my first visit, I was on the 3rd floor and experienced noise throughout the night—it sounded like doors constantly opening and closing. This time, I stayed on the 4th floor, and it was much quieter and more comfortable. Everything else remained consistently good, including the staff, the room, and the amenities. I also had the chance to try the restaurant this time, and it was a pleasant experience. They offer different promotions every night, which is a nice touch, and the staff there were just as friendly and attentive.

Sudima Hotel Christchurch was an absolutely excellent choice during my trip to New Zealand's South Island. What impressed me most was the clean and modern interior design that greeted me as soon as I entered the room. The fresh and fluffy bedding allowed me to perfectly unwind from the fatigue of travel. The warm and friendly service from the staff made for a pleasant experience throughout my stay. From check-in to guidance on local attractions, their thoughtful consideration made me feel truly valued. Furthermore, the quality of both breakfast and other meals offered at the hotel's restaurant was superb, ensuring satisfying dining experiences. In terms of location, it boasts excellent accessibility to Christchurch city center and major tourist spots, as well as convenient transportation to and from the airport, making itinerary management very easy. With impeccable cleanliness, friendly service, and a superb location, there was nothing lacking at this accommodation. I would not hesitate to choose it again for my next visit to Christchurch.

had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Kaikōura. The room was very spacious, clean, and well-maintained, which made it extremely comfortable to relax after a long day of exploring. The highlight was definitely the stunning ocean view — waking up to the sea right in front of you is truly special. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They gave great recommendations for local restaurants and activities, which really helped make the trip more enjoyable and easy to plan. Overall, it’s a perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a clean, spacious room with a beautiful sea view and warm, helpful service. I would definitely stay here again.
