Bush Hotel Farnham

Very exquisite hotel with many rooms, which is relatively large in the small town of Farnham. The hotel room is very clean, simple and quiet, the service staff is kind, and the hotel manager is very gentleman. The hotel does not have an elevator, and the service staff will help you carry your luggage to the room, and they refuse to charge tips. It is less than 10 minutes from Farnham Railway Station and 10 minutes from the University of Creative Arts. There are many international students nearby. Next time I go to stay in this hotel.

I stayed in room 3 on the ground floor and I thought the experience as a whole was alright, gets the job done if that’s all you need. There were some things I thought were a bit strange however. The shower was the main thing, it was stuck on full power which was crazy fast. It also didn’t stay in place because it was so powerful and kept turning into the wall. When I had pointed it facing out, it would point to the window (which was in the shower) and begin to fill up the window sill. Additionally, the sliding door had broken and it was replaced with a flimsy shower curtain which Barry managed to cover the gap. The room was a little dark but other than that was fine. The bed was fine too. Dinner is room service or you can have it in the bar area if you’d like. There isn’t a restaurant however and the bar area isn’t incredibly suitable for a meal with a family, fine on my own though. The menu consisted of pub food and each item was between £11-15 for the majority. There is a pizza and alcohol deal for £15 which is what I had, which was fine. Breakfast was £11.75 I think and was a buffet in one of the service rooms and was pretty good. Overall I think my experience was pretty poor but the room was very clean and the staff were very helpful and polite
Hogs Back Hotel & Spa

I spent a total of three days at the Hotel whilst on a work trip which included needing some time to do computer based work in the evenings. It turned out to be the perfect place to stay. A comfortable and quiet room with all the facilities you could ask for, a great breakfast with friendly staff and a kind of 'make yourself at home' feel about the place. I did not use the restaurant as I was working late but did enjoy pie and mash ordered from the bar area one evening, (along with a pint), and both went down a treat. There is a health spa there too so next time I will remember to pack my swim shorts. All in all it was an extremely pleasant stay and I saved money by booking through Trip.com too.

Appreciate a really warm welcome after a long drive down from the midlands and the gentleman who checked us in was so informative and helpful credit to your team. We were there for two nights as my wife was in a golf competition locally and on our second night we had a meal booked for twelve and it was served to perfection all on time and decent portions and hot we also enjoyed good conversation with all the staff that evening and you were all very professional. The breakfast has a choice between cereals breads buns etc or an extensive choice of cooked to order ingredients which were locally sourced items and very delicious. Would use again as the room was ideal for a couple of night stay and would like to explore the local areas in more detail the only small complaint we have was the road noise but I think that’s time of year still weather etc our second night was better than the first. Possibly the best staff we have encountered in a uk hotel for quite sometime.

Booked due to attending a friends wedding nearby, my friend paid for early check in due us needing to all get ready for the wedding, the room when we went in smelt musty like it hadn’t been used in a while which is what we put it down to. We got back to the hotel around 12.30am and I was able to collect the key to my booked twin room I was sharing with my friend. We went back to the 1st room to collect our belongings and as we walked in the smell of damp dirty water hit us so much so it made me gag. My friend refused to stay there and even the bedding smelt and felt damp. Our belongings that we left in the room also had the smell in them. We went to reception to complain. She was not offered alternative accommodation so she had to stay with in my twin room (3 of us all squashed in twins pushed together) this room Also smelt of drains (it wasn’t a great day weather wise but you still don’t expect the drains to make a whole room stink the way it did) We were told the next day someone from management would contact us. ( no one has) I received an email from customer services asking to rate my stay so I emailed them the issues (no reply) I also emailed the email address on the website (no reply). For a 4* hotel the level of service is shocking. To not even respond to emails or acknowledge the issue is poor! We paid £140 for 1 night in a room that stunk and also had to accommodate another person, they knew our friend had to stay in with us and we weren’t offered extra pillows or bedding. Other friends also paid £170 and was then told that they had to pay an additional £30 to use the spa and wanted £20pp for a breakfast I genuinely have no idea how they justify their prices. Avoid! There’s a premier inn not too far away!

A nice well built, cosy hotel in a really good location. Small carpark but well built and maintained. The room was sizeable and was comfortable (although no bin in the room was odd). The night sleep was nice but be aware the hotel lacks any sort of air conditioning and most windows open out onto the main street below, doing little to avoid noise. The breakfast is a very basic continental offering, with no other food being served. The odd thing during my stay were the housekeeping staff. We had agreed a late checkout (12) but at 9:30am I had a knock on my door to see if ”I was still there”, which was odd as hotels have software to monitor room check-in and check-out. The fact the key had not been returned yet must have been a giveaway too. Not half an hour after this there was another knock. But with waiting no time, the staff tried to open the door right away and walk in, trying repeatedly (luckily I had locked the door, as I was getting changed). Upon me saying hello through the door someone said sorry in a rushed way and left. Not another half an hour after this I was in the bathroom and someone UNLOCKED THE DOOR and opened it and left as soon as they saw bags and suitcases still in the room. I should add, all of this happened with the do not disturb sign on the door! After this the front desk rang the room and hung up upon me answering the phone. To be honest this is poor and one of the most basic things you do not do when running a hotel. If the sign is on the door, you do not disturb. I could understand if we had stayed late, or they had forgotten about the late checkout. But all of this happened even before their standard checkout time of 11am.
