Best Western Chambersburg

Really good breakfast with eggs, sausage, gravy, waffles, apples, oatmeal, yogurt etc. Hotel is almost done with remodeling. Fitness center was closed. Our room still needed some electrical items taken care of but enough in working order. Place was clean even though remodeling being done. Have stayed here before and would definitely stay again.
Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Chambersburg, PA

Slept well and it was quiet. We were a late arrival, called to let them know and when we arrived the clerk would outside having a smoke. She saw us coming and just stared at us, and rather than immediately come inside or at least speak to us and say welcome, we go in, ring the bell and then she drags herself inside, sighing. We gave our name and said we were a late arrival and had called. No response. Gave her the card we wanted to charge the room to and she billed the one that was on file. Walked around in the office area giving us the rundown (while walking around) and it was obvious we were bothering her. Cleaning person in the hall wa very nice the next morning and made us feel more welcome. Room seemed clean and well appointed. Strangely, our sheer curtain in our room had a big rip in it and it was repaired with packing tape, rather than either remove it or get a new one. Kind of weird. Seems to be having a remodel and only suggestion is to please remove the nasty carpets and replace with anything but carpet. Our room carpet was stained but we kept shoes on our feet the entire time. We would stay here again and hope for a front desk clerk who appreciate the fact she has a job.
SpringHill Suites Chambersburg

If you are familiar with and like the Springhill Suites brand then this will be a good choice for you. It's very new, is typical of the latest Springhill design, with friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms. It's a basic hotel, let's be clear, but it's done well. The rooms are larger than a typical hotel room and divided in a way to provide a living area and a sleeping area divided by a work desk (not a closed-door suite, to be clear). Large walk-in closet with lots of shelving. Trundle bed which can sleep two extra people. Bathroom door is a slider with frosted glass which was fine however if one person is up earlier than the others it could brighten the whole room. Ideally they would have put a solid sliding door there instead of the tempered glass. Shower was nice with great pressure. HVAC was effective and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was very basic but fine for what it is. There's a VERY small indoor pool. My request for a high floor away from elevator (made on the Bonvoy app chat earlier in the day) was accommodated and appreciated. Well-situated off I-81 with a lot of chain restaurants around and a large retail development including a large Target. While everything is new and works now I hope they maintain this place well because already there were some towel rods that were loose, some chips in the shower floor, and some signs that this place was built a bit on the cheap - like many chain hotels are these days I've found. So it's all good now but I hope they maintain it well or else it will show its age earlier than it should. Would definitely return if I'm passing through the area or have business in the region.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Chambersburg
4/584 Reviews
We were going to stay 2 nights but fled after the first. I've stayed in Holiday Inn Express before but none like this one. Here are all the things that didn't work: The elevator was broken and out of service. The kitchen couldn't make any hot items. The key reader on one of the exterior doors was broken so the door was propped open. The fire door on one end of the 2nd floor stairs was broken so that door was propped open despite the sign saying to keep it closed. The pool was busy despite a sign on the pool ladder saying the ladder was broken and to keep away from it. Other than the bed, the furniture in our room resembled that of a 1980s Holiday Inn with 40 years of wear. Half of the television stations could not lock on the signal. There was a HDTV in the room, but standard definition television appeared on the screen. The wifi worked and the bed was reasonable comfortable. I think the noisy AC unit provided some white noise to help drown out the other noise from the hotel. Somewhat surprisingly the ice machine worked.
