From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Alison and Dave the owners. They were helpful with their knowledge of Chester and provided great recommendations. The guest house exudes charm and elegance, with tastefully decorated rooms that are both cozy and comfortable. The location couldn't be better, situated within walking distance of Chester's main attractions and surrounded by picturesque streets. The attention to detail and personalized service truly made our stay memorable. We can't wait to return to Grosvenor Place Guest House on our next visit to Chester. We stayed here so we were local for me to run the Chester Marathon. On arrival we were advised that breakfast would be 8-10 but ”lots of guests have said that won't be early enough”. We were surprised that they hadn't adjusted their service times to account for this annual event, even more so when they didn't offer a ”grab and go” breakfast option. The surprise became annoyance when most of the pastries at breakfast were pre-packaged. When we did have breakfast on the second morning, we had to wait 15mins until we could be seated before being immediately asked how I wanted my egg. Imagine our surprise when we're halfway through our fruit and yoghurt to be presented with a freshly fried egg! So we had our cooked breakfast first, with what looked like yesterday's bacon and watery beans. We skipped the pastries as I doubt they would have been any better than something from the Co-op. Perhaps offer a grab-and-go option and request expected timings for breakfast in future? The room was comfortable, if a little compact, and it was only a 30min walk into town, so that's not so bad.

Me, my partner and a few friends stayed here as the location was perfect for a party we were all attending in the evening... this place was lively and the owner was fantastic..even let us leave our cars on the drive when whe checked out so we could go say goodbye to our friends.. we missed breakfast but they made us some sausage sandwiches for our journey back... will definitely be staying here again! The only little thing would be the shower pressure but apart from that everything was great... thank you so much for our stay!!

Even if you don't love music, this is a little gem hidden in the top of the bar. I stayed for one night midweek after a conference nearby. It is run by friendly people who made by later-than-expected check-in very easy, and were really helpful the morning after as I worked from the bar area for the rest of the day. The rooms are themed to certain bands - I had the KISS room- and the memorabilia was very interesting throughout the hotel. The shower was excellent and the bed really comfortable. It was a great space to relax in. I arrived on a Tuesday night, which is a quiet night for them. But, I actually liked that because their open air space outside was big and it was great sitting out late at night and having drink from the bar. It is really close to all the restaurants and bars in the centre of the city as well. Only note would be the stairs up are steep. I managed my big bag up there, some might be weary of it, though.
