The Devoncourt Resort

Fantastic hotel, that has a great location with lovely food and views. The staff were lovely. We had a suite that was really really nice, what made it even better,it was a surprise upgrade. We pre booked an afternoon tea that we had on the Saturday, that was splendid, too much to eat in one go, so we took it to go (back to our apartment) and we are more than likely going to have it for our lunch tomorrow! we would recommend to friends and family and are looking forward to coming back! We have had breakfast throughout our stay, i would recommend pre booking as you get it cheaper. Dave Who works in Leisure & Restaurant - absolutely lovely chap Brad Who works on the bar, very pleasant Charlotte who works on reception - absolutely lovely girl, who was very very helpful
Cbh Dartington Hall Hotel

We stayed at Dartington Hall on August Bank Holiday, travelling down on the Monday and staying until the Friday. We used our stay as a base for trips into Devon and Cornwall, so it was the perfect spot for us. We had a very pleasant stay in this lovely old Hall and enjoyed the beautiful gardens with so much history to them. We ate at night in The White Hart Resturant. The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable. The Chef is a master of their craft. We had many enjoyable conversations with Elliott, the Dupty Manager and nothing was too much, just excellent service.... First Class. There was entertainment in the gardens and a BBQ most nights, which was very nice. We had a lovely time and want to thank everyone at Dartington Hall, especially Elliott. 'Thank You'. RS
Tor Park Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

The building is old and could use a lick of paint and some new carpets. However, the room had been fully decorated, was great value, clean and tidy with a bath tub rather than just a shower. and a heated towel rack. The TV signal was really bad, but the WiFi was good, so we were able to watch TV on our devices. There was free off road parking. More options for breakfast would be nice, but if you like a simple continental it's nice. There were lots of options to local restaurants on deliveroo, so we were able to enjoy a nice meal in the lovely alcove in the room where there was a table and 2 chairs, looking out the bay window. The staff, Hissan and his team were amazing, caring and friendly, providing ice for our cooler twice and also amending our booking to a second night stay, without making us change rooms. For an inexpensive stay, you'll have a hard time finding better.

You couldn’t ask for nicer owners. So friendly, helpful and considerate. This place is in a good location as it’s quiet but near to shops and not too far a walk from the sea front. There is plenty of parking, decent rooms and facilities and a lovely breakfast room with food cooked to order. Thank you for a lovely stay
Berry Hotel

Young lad very helpful when checked in offered help to take luggage to room If you struggle with mobility ask lower floor as lots stairs up to top floor small corridors Woken up 1am by people in the street on way back from pubs Friday night not hotels fault but that's problem with hotel being on a side street The corridor light kept coming on shining under the bedroom door and people shutting doors make noise Bed lovely and comfortable and room lovely and clean can't complain Seagulls on the roof every night so loud The second night was even worse for noise I had about an hours sleep due to people outside street and seagulls on roof! I know the hotel can't control this but not an ideal location The staff are lovely , especially the lady at breakfast Breakfast sausages were poor but rest was ok It's more of a B&B than a hotel If I could get a full nights sleep I would stay again
The Abbey Inn

We stayed for a night at The Abbey Inn in October 2023. Plenty of parking was available, and just a short walk from the car park to the inn itself. We received a warm greeting from the lady at the bar and check-in was quick and efficient. We were handed the key to our room and asked if we would like to book a table for dinner which we did. The room we booked was lovely, with a 4 poster bed and river view. Just the right size too, with an en-suite shower room. Basic tea and coffee facilites (standard hotel slow-boiling kettle) and a decent size smart TV. Dinner was delicious, we both had the Scampi, though a little confusion with the order as we changed a couple of sides. This was rectified in due course and we had no complaints. Drinks were also reasonably priced and we ended up with a bill of just under £40 for dinner for 2 with drinks. Hosts were very friendly and helpful at all times. A good night's sleep was had - bed was very comfy with a choice of firm and soft pillows, the calming babbling of the river was nice to hear and despite having the window open a crack the room stayed warm due to excellent central heating. Breakfast was included in our stay (£85 for the night) - there was a very wide range of choices to cover all tastes including vegetarian, vegan and us carnivores! Unfotunately my partner's eggs benedict was delayed due to a 'bad egg' which had to be re-done - all in all about a 30 minute wait, but it was worth it. I had a sausage sandwich which was very high quality. We then packed up and checked out seamlessly, with a cheerful farewell from our hosts. We'll certainly return to The Abbey Inn again, great value for money and would have gladly paid more for a room of this standard. 5 stars well deserved :-)
Beaches Guesthouse

To be fair it was a lovely stay , yes the building is a little dated but it was built nearly 200 years ago , We received a warm and friendly welcome from Ged our host who showed us to our room which was clean and very nicely presented, the fire evacuation call was explained and so was the breakfast arrangement. Following morning breakfast was presented… a nice full English and Blueberry pancake with syrup both enjoyed with no complaints. All in all a very nice stay with lovely hosts . Parking was available on a first come first serve basis . Thank you Ged & Clare for a very pleasant experience Gerry & Bev or John & Gill 😍
Imperial Plymouth

Thought I would say a few words about The Imperial Plymouth. Had a family event at short notice and was looking for a hotel centrally based in Plymouth with parking and good value, well i found it with The imperial Plymouth. I contacted reception and asked about late arrival, Rachel could not have done more, she left a key , took photos and sent instructions how to access my room. The room was in fact a fully self contained unit with cooker kettle microwave etc AND was very clean with all tea coffee provided. I will only ever stay in this hotel when visiting Plymouth. Lovely location, lovely room, I arrived at 2am and woke to late for breakfast, at 10am i hot a knock on the door and received a sausage sandwich the lady Rachel had seen i had missed breakfast and brought me something to eat. Fabulous staff. Fabulous service. An excellent customer service team. And excellent hospitality. Thank you Rachel. Thank you The imperial Hotel. You really did go the extra mile. Best wishes Steven Thorne
The Sherborne Lodge

We thought the breakfast was the best we've ever had in the UK. The towels provided are the biggest we've ever had in the UK. It is the only hotel we've stayed at, that has an electric car charging point. The owner c,early loves dogs as much as people and fed ours with at least one sausage! Room 4 was a bad choice with a dog as there was insufficient floor space for her bed but there was no charge for the dog. The room was too hot upon entry. Neither were the curtains drawn, nor was the window open, but once a couple of buttons were pressed, the window let in enough air for the table top air conditioner to bring the room temperature down. However, at night, we ended up removing the winter duvet from its cover in order to sleep on the very comfy bed! The hotel is centrally located, but the area is so built up, that there was nowhere for the dog to go to the toilet before her sumptuous breakfast, nor before crawling into her rather scrunched up bed!

Disappointed that there were decorators outside my room painting the windows, was not advised this was the case when i checked in. No make good offered, when I asked for a 30 minute extension on check out I was told this would cost £10… Restaurant food was great, bar staff friendly though some training in basic customer service would be a good idea.
